What do you recommend? Bank or Credit Union..List the best bank or Credit Union in North Carolina around Winston-Salem,Greensboro, High Point Area please.. thanks!

It is a matter of personal preference. Credit unions are basically owned by the members and are community based. Banks are owned by corporations. I prefer credit unions, because you know that chances are the people making the decisions live in your community. But with Credit Unions, you do need just look in the yellow pages and start calling around, because some have restrictions on who can become a member. For some it is based on employers, if a family member is a member, or just community based. Usually if a credit union has community in the name, anyone in the community can become a member. Also, some employers have deals with banks and local credit unions for their employees to become members, so maybe also ask your employer if they have anything like that available.
