I feel like I am in a poor position to negotiate since I have no cash, plus, all of the homes I like are about 30k more than I have pre-qualified for on my mortgage loan -- Dave.

Ok, say I SELL an item for $80.00 that I put a 40% markup on. What is the total price I would have bought the item for?

Hello, I am 21 years old and currently under my dad's company insurance through Blue Cross as a full time student. The policy is that they will cover me if I remain a full time student.

However, a few months ago I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and I have been hospitalized twice. My doctors suggest that I take a few quarters off of school, but if I don't recover rapidly I may have to take up to a year or so. During this time, will my insurance cover me? It would not make sense if they don't cover me because the only reason I can't go to school is because I got sick. For blue cross, are there any steps do I need to take to make sure I am covered during the time that I am not going to school?

Hi.
I have an internet store with a lot of one shot customers. As I have been adding more inventory to the websites I want to remind previous customers that I am still here. In your opinion what would be the better way to do so? Postcards or regular cards with discount coupons? Email advertising would be considered spam right?
Please let me know.
Thank you.

Ok, I'm starting a business and need some help determining profits and markups. This is probably simple math but i'm stupid when it comes to math. Heres what i'm trying to figure out:

If i'm selling something for $3.50 and i buy it for $1.15, what is the mark up percentage.
What i thought was divide 350 by 115 and multiply by 100, is this correct?

My business recenly required me to read the article and make a speech to talk about any aspects, opinion, comments, implication regarding the article. I have difficulty to come up with a speech that I don't know what I can talk about. Could anyone give me some suggestions and/or specific opinions about this article?

Thank you very much and I look forward to any reply!

1. March 2006: Received letter from IRS saying we owe money (with handy return envelope enclosed) saying we need to pay said amount or else. We have to sign letter (saying we are guilty) and mail back payment within 30 days.
2. Tax Accountant says: don't sign and don't pay
3. Okay didn't do that. Instead we sent a letter saying we disagree.
4. No answer
5. July 2006: Letter from IRS saying we are now delinquent and have a couple thousand dollars in penalties. Pay us now and we will stop the penalties (stop hurting you). If you disagree, file a petition.
6. Called tax accountant. Said: don't sign and don't pay.
7. Okay. Didn't do those things. Filed our petition.
8. Another set of Deliquency Letters.
9. Hired our little US Govt Tax person for $60. Filled out our paperwork.
10. Case # sent
11. Letter from Tax attorney asking for all reciepts etc.
Is this normal? I can't but feel we were never actually audited until after we hired the Govt Tax guy. What else can we do?

Our family is relocating from Kansas City to Chicago. We're looking to live in a fun, hip part of town...but it needs to be out of the city, since we have two young kids. We are searching for an upscale neighborhood, with diversity and good schools. We work out of our home, so proximity to work is not important. Any suggestions? And what's the difference between the northern and southern suburbs. Anything we should consider?

I am so stupid so of course guilty... I used to reverse overdraft fees for my own benefit, all of them went to my account and although I no longer work at that bank anymore they found out and I'm afraid of what's going to happen to me, please do not call me names or anything because the pressure is already big and I know what I did was very wrong and whatever comes to me I deserve it... but I want to be ready for when the time comes, if they are gonna do anything which I'm sure they will sigh. The ammount of money I got out of this is around 8,000 throughout the course of a year so am I facing jail time here if they do prosecute? there is another side to this story though because I used other ppl's ids not mine so there is no other proof that I did it myself besides the fact that all the fees reversed are on my bank account... what do you think they will do? please help me be ready for when the time comes to pay for my mistakes.
