I must sound like a complete idiot on the phone. Im going through interviews now for a new job. I land phone interviews easy but never seal the deal!!!! I did 12 so far! Some responses were I didnt sound enthusiastic on the phone! What does that mean? Others were my phone presence wasnt very strong? Please help me with this. God Bless!

Three partners and myself started a small internet newspaper. We are growing and given the new Web 2.0 climate, one of my original partners (who no longers works with us) owns 15% of the company and is looking to sell a part of his stock (5% or so). Can he do this legally given we are a private California company without my permission (majority shareholder)? I would love to buy this stock back, but he is asking way too high a price.

I always see the it takes a thief show on TV and they always take credit cards.

I have a few questions on this...I know the cards can be canceled but if the card owner didn't know that the cards were gone and the thief used them is there like any way the credit card or someone could trace down the user if they used it on the internet?

my thinking is they COULD like if they ordered on the net with the card and mailed to the thief's address and name...the questions is, do the credit card companies actually do this?

I have a BS in engineering and am considering the field of law. I have heard many positives (money, job satisfaction, etc.) and negatives (long hours, etc.) about careers in law. I was told that a career as a patent attorney is quite different than a typical career in law. Therefore, I ask everyone out there: what are the typical working conditions of a patent attorney (hours, tasks, salary, etc.)? I would prefer that those who are patent attorneys or know patent attorneys to answer this question. Thanks...

Hey all, I got a conditional job offer for a police department job.. I completed all my screenings, drug test and such.. and start the academy in 3 weeks. How does the conditional job offer work? Will I get a final job offer before the academy, or will the conditional job offer be until the academy is completed? Even though we are being paid while in the academy.
