Why is it that piercings are considered unprofessional? The only visible piercing I have is my eyebrow, but whenever I'm meeting with someone it's interpreted that I am wild, lazy, and/or unresponsible. I think that the eyebrow ring looks good on me and I see it as any other form of jewelry. I don't know, I just think it's unfair.

What if you are on your own, it's just you, you have bills to pay, and something happens at your job? You get layed off or fired or the company goes under? What are some good skills you could have that could make you money immediately, as a backup resource? Any ideas?

I've already asked this question, but to reply to 'rochester's comments i totally disagree!!!.. If the union does get in , any pay negotiations don't start at current payscale levels. They are cut back to minimum wage & work up from there. The plant i work at has the highest starting pay & the highest top out pay in the area. The only thing the union guarantees to us is that they WILL charge dues. They are full of empty promises that they have no legal right to back up with action. This is so wrong. They are telling lies to entice voters to vote for them. Please don't try to tell me they are on the workers side. They are on their side. Rochester is obviously as weak as all the rest of the people who have listened to & believed their lies. Wake up rochester.... They are a business, just like any other. All they want is a profit, just like any other business. The only difference is the bullying techniques & lies they tell to earn their money.

We are 4 people living in a 2 bedroom rented apartment in Lincoln, NE. The lease includes 3 names; myself, my friend and a third guy. A fourth guy is living without being in the lease.

Recently we have had problems. The third person in the lease and the guy who is not in the lease have been fighting and abusing me and my friend. They shout, throw stuff and curse at us. They don't clean and throw around trash.

1) We have requested the third person in the lease to release us from the lease, but he refuses. He will not break the lease either. Me and my friend are ready to bear any cost of lease-break. Can me and my friend force a lease-break on the third person?

2) Can we get rid of the fourth person who is not in the lease? He refuses to move out. He is dirty and is making the apartment resemble a trash can.

3) Somebody told me to approach "City Building and Safety". If I report that 4 unrelated people are living in a 2 bedroom apartment can they get the apartment vacated?

Initially not paid for hours I worked, when reported to the owner, the owner at first said that it was a miscommunication and that I would not be paid this lead to me leaving. After I left owner came to my house and offered to pay missing hours. I then resumed work, after about 3 days owner began to correct everything that I did, and began cursing into the air about my performance, before this time I was as close to a perfect employee as you could find. Also they had fired another employee and did not replace him doubling the work that I had to do in an 8 hour period. It quickly became a very hostile work environment. I believe they were unhappy with getting caught trying to shave hours and they began taking out on me. If anyone has every gone through this and could be any help it would be appreciatted, thanks

In these days people sue for anything and sometimes win. How good are homeowner Umbrella polices and do they guard you against almost anything. Is there any other supplemental insurance to cover you for everything?

Why have almost all of the corner or shopping center mailbox's disappeared in Cupertino, CA? The pick up times at some of the remaining mailbox's or sub stations are very early. Does anyone know how to find the different mailbox pickup times? I have tried the internet (no luck) and the Post Office which as usual was rude and unhelpful. Is anyone else having this problem in Silicon Valley?

The machinists union is campaigning outside my workplace. At the moment there is no union in place but an election will take place on Nov.2 to see if they get in or not. I strongly object for quite a number of reasons. Missouri is not a 'right to work' state so they will, if elected, be trying to get a 'closed shop' (every employee must become a union member or lose their job). I would like to try to fight this but don't know how. I have heard of a "dues objector". Is this a way of avoiding membership?. I like my job & am quite satisfied with working conditions , payscales etc etc.

... viable business proposition for developing nations?

Assuming you:

1- can get the Expired or WVO at no or very low cost (i.e. transportation / recycle collection expenses)

2- have access to an affordable labor force

3- mean to produce it on a reasonably large scale to sustain a relatively large size business and NOT just for personal use

4- mean to produce a high-quality Biodiesel and hope to sell the glycerin byproduct to the industry as well

5- can market the Biodiesel directly to the target customers (e.g. trucks, buses, heating market, etc.)

Would the upfront cost of a reasonably large Conversion / Reactor Facility plus the other ongoing costs of production / operation / distribution (fix and variable) make this a potentially viable business opportunity for "the developing country markets"?

And do you know of similar type operations (on large scale) anywhere in the world that you can direct my attention to?

Would greatly appreciate serious comments.
