I've done some research on this and came up with:
It is a hassle exchanging money. The banks don't want it either. You probably have to count this as a lost. Gas, time, and effort is not worth it...jmo
On second thought there is a way you can exchange it....though it's not very unethical. You can take your tab/ticket the next time that you go out to a restaurant, put it with the rest of the money for your order, and haul azz...good luck

Better have both halves, most banks won't accept it unless it is 3/4 there. If you just ripped it, why do you only have half? Makes no sense.

Banks use to have a chart to measure how much of the bill you have and will give you that amount. Most likely they still do but not sure.

you can slways tape it back and it's still he same as if it wasn;t rip i work in a store and get them all the time and the bank takes it and exchanges it with a new dollar.

You need to have all of one serial number and at least half of the other side to have it replaced at a bank. If not, you have lost it.

I tape it together and spend it.
:D they will take it in canada.. I dont know how strict the americans are about money though..
