The machinists union is campaigning outside my workplace. At the moment there is no union in place but an election will take place on Nov.2 to see if they get in or not. I strongly object for quite a number of reasons. Missouri is not a 'right to work' state so they will, if elected, be trying to get a 'closed shop' (every employee must become a union member or lose their job). I would like to try to fight this but don't know how. I have heard of a "dues objector". Is this a way of avoiding membership?. I like my job & am quite satisfied with working conditions , payscales etc etc.
