I'm going to apply as a first-time owner and upon speaking to a mortgager I was told that I had to increase my credit score in order for them to work with me. or have 15% down payment of the home I wish to buy. Does it still take years before the credit score is improved?

Does anyone have any advice for buying a home if you have low income and bad credit? I live with my fiance and am disabled, but not on disability yet. We both have miserable credit, but his grandmother has immaculate credit and will co-sign. We just want a nice house in the suburbs of Huntsville, AL, where we live... we are tired of throwing rent money away for nothing!

He currently makes under $13k a year, which I know is not much at all.

Does anyone have any advice for us? We aren't in any hurry, of course, we are looking to buy within the next two years, tho... preferably the sooner the better, but we know better than to hope for that.

My boyfriend has been working at the Hospital for over 14months and has just had a major verbal reprimand for something quite trivial. I've been applying now for a few years for a position as either a receptionist, unit worker, supplies worker, office assistant and I have a great work history and references but Kaiser or Sutter have never called me for an interview. Is there something I could be doing wrong? Or is it true that they hire from the inside? I don't know if I should just give up or keep going because I'd really like to work for a hospital.

My husband spent 26 years in the Canadian Arm Forces, another 9 years doing the same job only as a civilian. He knew he would lose on his service pension but not off the other one and when he turned 65 he went a 100.00 in the hole. WHERE IN GOD"S NAME IN THEJUSTICE IN THAT,WHEN WE ARE SUCH HONEST PEOPLE. I have an old school loan, through the school, NOT federal loan, and we have not paid it. A lawyers office contacted me this week, to tell me if I don't pay the $3,000 by the end of this month, they will sue me and will garnish my wages. At this point, if I try to settle with the college, are they allowed to work with me, or no, since it is with a lawyer? Any suggestions? I don't have $3,000 to pay in a week, and I don't want to go to court. HELP, please!!!
