For the past 6 months I have been working through a job agency. I just started my 3rd assignment 4 weeks ago as an Executive assistant for the CIO of a company. He offered the job to me last week and started the get the ball rolling with HR. Now this is the problem. The first day that I started I was handed an application and confused as to why this was handed to me because I was only on assignment I checked NO on the app where it asked have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor. It was too late to change it last week when the job was offered to me. I went to my boss and explained everything and I mean everything in great detail. He said that he would have a talk with the Director in HR to see if we can let my error slide but he is unsure as to what the end results will be. He made it clear to me that he didn't care about a silly misdemeanor but I should always be honest about that in the future. I agree but I can't change that now. Does anyone know what may happen for me?

These mysterious entities of high finance that enable leveraged buyouts and also 'buy' profitable, debt-free companies by loading them with debt, how do they operate?? How do you define the term 'hedge fund'?? Are they regulated by the Securities & Exchange Commissionn (SEC) on the USA and by the Financial Services Authority(FSA) in the UK?? How come they are allowed to conduct asset-stripping raids on solvent companies with such impunity.??? Are ther no limits to what they are permited to do??

How should I handle this? At any normal company I probably wouldn't have this problem and if I did I'm sure it would be settled professionally, but my situation is different. I worked part-time at this title insurance company for a very brief period. I left because I found a great full-time position(better pay &benefits) and also because the manager just had too many dum rules (no talking, no checking your private email, you can't eat at your desk only the little white table, no set schedule-she tells you when to leave, drastic change in job description, etc.) Anyway, you get the picture, so I think she had a bit of an attitude that I left and now I'm wondering how I should handle her not sending the paycheck out because it was supposed to get here today. I don't desperately need the money because I found a new job, but it's the principal. She's so petty and rude that I'm wondering should I just wait a day and see if it arrives tomorrow.
What would you do? Wait or handle it now?

which will calculate the right tax code for you? My friend has the same problem he earned £225 this week. He was taxed £23.19 and National Insurance of £14.08. Thus the total deduction was £37.27. His tax code is 503L.

Has he paid too much tax?
