in most cases that is a promotion from selling cars. i would recommend you get a job selling cars so you understand the business and tell your dealer that your career goal is to be a finance and insurance manager.

You do not need a degree to do F & I, although it would give you an advantage.
Many successful Finance managers just started as salesmen and have an understanding for the business and good people skills.

GET LISCENCED IN YOUR STATE FOR SELLING CARS FIRST, DEPENDING WHERE YOUR AT THEY MIGHT WANT A DEGREE OR CLASSES IN MANAGMENT AS WELL.
