This question was posed by a TA in my MBA class. I get 2 extra points, as well as my teammates, at the end of the semester if it's answered correctly. I need the source of origin for any answers provided so that it may be verified. Any help is truly appreciated!!!

I have been working for McDonalds for about 14 years. When I first started I had high aspiration of becoming CEO of McDonalds. I started out as a fry guy and have since then moved up to assistant manager. I even won the employee of the month award 3 times during my 14 years tenure. Why won't they let me move up into greater positions of responsibility so that I have a chance to show Mcdonalds what I have? It is really hard to support 2 kids and a wife on $12.60 an hour...

Hello all,

Here's the situation:

Several credit cards are late and now in collections.
Creditors have been calling for months now.
Currently credit report has them all as in collections.
Creditors have offered me some fairly attractive terms to settle the debt.
In some cases 75% off

Would my credit score improve more quickly if I settle and the credit report
states settled.,

Or should I just let them get charged off?

Any and all opinoins appreciated,

Not only that...in about five years company bought out all workers and I would have received about $175,000 at age 55. Help me live with that.

I am thinking of moving to Ireland - I already have a job offer and will be living somewhere in South Dublin. I'm looking for recommendations on things I will need to set up over there. Which Bank to use in particular...but also anything I might not have thought of, like any tax savings possible etc. I am a little surprised at the amount of tax that will be taken from salary. I think I will end up with about €2,000 net per month. Is that a comfortable salary in Dublin, I hear nights out aren't exactly cheap there!
And advice appreciated!

I have just inherited roughly 90,000 dollars. Right now i have terrible credit(thanxs to ex husband), so i figure i should pay off all outstanding debt first. I should be left with approx. $50,000. What is the smartest thing to do with this money. I'm a single mother of three and what to save and earn for future short and long term. I have no previous knowledge on finance and investing. Thanks so much!

Before you are hired by WALMART you are given a huge package of 'rules, regulations' etc. one of which is;

You have to sign that you WILL NOT WORK IN A SIMILAR BUSINESS FOR A YEAR after leaving. My friend thought this applied only to executives, marketing etc. where that might be reasonable. She was applying for a job in the photo studio.

She went to a labor lawyer who said:

1) it is legal

2) in his experience, everyone had to sign it and

3) in his experience, Walmart goes after even relatively low guys on the totem pole for breaking this 'contractual obligation'

Yeah! Does anybody work there who doesn't absolutely have to?

i received this thing in the mail from "Nova Financial Group"
it was a letter along with a check for $5000,
the letter says its a final winning notification
- it claims i am a "lucky" winner in the 1st and 2nd quarters of its lottery (its from germany, i'm in the U.S.)
i'm supposedly now entitled to the sum of U.S. $250,000
then the letter states my "batch/serial number" and a claim number..and a telephone number i should call for help to "further process my claim"
obviously its some sort of scam.
well the questions are:
how does the scam work? has anyone heard of this sort of thing?
cause from the letter i cant really tell how the people running the
scam would make money
normally they ask you to send money "to receive your prize"
thats not the case here, they just send a letter and a check
and theres no small print.
the name of the company is:
Nova Financial Group
Europe and North america
Wilheim Str.28
D - 60311 Frankfurt am main
Germany

Since they do not belong to the Account Manager, and he holds them as a fiduciary under a power of attorney, they cannot be attached- is this correct?
