Before you are hired by WALMART you are given a huge package of 'rules, regulations' etc. one of which is;

You have to sign that you WILL NOT WORK IN A SIMILAR BUSINESS FOR A YEAR after leaving. My friend thought this applied only to executives, marketing etc. where that might be reasonable. She was applying for a job in the photo studio.

She went to a labor lawyer who said:

1) it is legal

2) in his experience, everyone had to sign it and

3) in his experience, Walmart goes after even relatively low guys on the totem pole for breaking this 'contractual obligation'

Yeah! Does anybody work there who doesn't absolutely have to?

I supose if you want to be a conglomerate in the retail industry, it's a good idea. Obviously it kind of sticks it to the employees who they fire after a month, but who have you ever heard saying that WalMart is a great place to work that really respects it's employees.....no one.

That seems a little absurd for working at a place like WalMart. I mean...what the hell...ITS WALMART. I would go with a more worthwhile company versus dealing with that garbage.

I had no longer heard that they did no longer. i've got not got a situation with it nonetheless. in case you like the interest undesirable sufficient you will abide via the guidelines. as far as merchandising tobacco products at "rather inflated expenditures", they are no longer. Tobacco products bought there are very aggressive in fee.
