I worked for a reputable home improvement company for almost three years. I was a cashier. Lastyear, my money kept coming up either over or short. For example, I was $9.99 over one day and then $5.00 short the next day. I voiced my complaints to my supervisor. I know how to count money, I was not taking it, but no one knew what was going on. I was just written up everytime it happened. At one point, the bookkeeper claimed I lost a check in the amount of $219. That was the last straw. I was fired the next day. After I was fired, later on that day, a co-worker found the missing check in the back of my register. The exact same place 3 other people looked before her. Even before I was fired, I was told that I had to move to another department so I would not be fired. Well, they would not move me, so I was fired anyway. Does this qualify as wrongful termination? And if so, what can I do?

P.S. Another cashier was fired for losing a check, but they found it in the same place mine was.

I moved away froom this area after the hurricane & am finding places to rent online but as soon as I call on the reasonable ones they're already rented. I really don't want an apt since we have a dog & have done that for the last year. We're staying with family until we find a place but don't want to do that too long.

Hi everyone. When i was 18 I messed my credit up bad(should have listened to my parents). Im now 23 and I paid off 3 negative accounts and paid one that we settled on an amount. I know its going to be on my credit for awhile but it says zero balance now. My question is, i got a new credit card to rebuild my credit its only $250 limit. Is it better for me to keep the balance very low? and of course make the payments on time? or do creditors want to see a balance held? Im at 555 score now i want to get back in the 600's whats the best way to get my score back up? any advice? and if i pay it on time for 6 months how fast will it go up again/>

We have a contract with a company which I have tried to cancel. They say we cannot cancel but I have noticed that the company who have written to me are of a different name (slightly). I have been on Companies House website and see that the original company is in liquidation - is the contract valid for the new company?

Thanks

I would like to earn a little extra cash to top up my monthly wages but can only do evenings or weekends and at home as I have children to look after, can anyone suggest anything that is genuine and not anything that I have to pay into to get started.

I really would appreciate it if anyone can help, thanks, Corinne.

I've just been on the phone to my gas/electricity supplier (Powergen) to set up a direct debit - and by their calculations I should be paying £140 A MONTH!!!

This is for both fuels, but it seems incredibly high to me. We have a 2-bed property with all the usual appliances, and I don't think we are particularly wasteful.

To others with similar sized properties - would you say this is the right sort of amount? I don't know whether or not I should be looking for another supplier.

In 2006, Dr. Mohammed Yunus from Bangladesh and Grameen Bank got noble prize in peace. The noble committee thought poverty alleviation is the key to peace. But isn't poverty alleviation more related to economics? Previously the theory of banking was 'You give loan to people who HAVE money, so that they can repay you quickly.' Mohammed Yunus believed that people who already have mone doesn't need any loan. He beleived 'You give loan to people who DO NOT have money, so that they can form a capital, earn money and then repay the loan.' This is perhaps the most revolutionary theory in banking system. So isn't economics the field where he deserved a Noble prize?
