Depending on what the wage is the unemployed person may be able to claim as a single claimant it all depends on how many N.I credits you have earned but usually the worker is expected to keep you and you're not entitled to anything.

If you phone the job centre plus local office and DO NOT give any personal info they will be able to tell you what you are entitled to or not including any other benefits like working tax credits etc

You will have to let every benefit know like Housing benefit, council tax benefit etc

you'd have to tell them. it may affect the amount you get as one of you is working/earning. but it depends on how many hours a week you/your partner work...
