hey guys im studying in college right now, thinking about getting an Accounting degree, but i dont want to be working the 8 hrs a day 5 days a week, as i think that is too much time to spend at work and i want to spend time at home with a family. the only reason i'm studying accounting is because one of my teachers said it was a strong degree to have, being a very flexible degree to have jobwise. I'm not really sure what he meant by this.

can i get some feedback on anybody currently holding an accounting job? what do you, where do you work? how many hours do you usually work and days. (im not looking for website links, i want personal experience!)

im not sure if its going to be the right job for me, but if its possible to find a career w/ a bachelors accounting degree where i could work 5 or 6 hrs a day and 4-5 days a week, that would be wonderful. p.s. (i have an interest in criminal justice as a MINOR degree) maybe that can combine with the accounting degree somehow?

Someone of Ebay (from overseas) bought a laptop, somehow used my Paypal account to purchase it. It was 1005.53 that was charged to my account, of course I don't keep that kind of money in my paypal so they used my back up funding which is my bank account. I filed for unauthorized debit at my bank and also filed with paypal and unauthorizd payment as well. Paypal did their 10 day investigation and put this money back in my account. So who does this money really go to? The bank tells me that they will send the money back and I won't get charged for it. They won't pay it since I filed unauthorized debit...so that part is taken care of. I'm just wondering why paypal put 1005.53 in my paypal account when I never had it in the first place! Thanks for all your help.

http://www.hsbcdirect.com currently offers 5.05%. That's hard to beat, especially with no fees or minimum deposit. But if there is better please let me know.

and I think this because when she comes to me with a question about something I did or that she thinks I didn't do...she always speaks very loudly so that my boss will hear, I believe. Most times, I show her that she's wrong or show her something in the computer that she couldn't find herself and I do it politely even though she's trying to make it seem like I don't know what I'm doing. Why would she do this ? I don't know...but I have had my guard up with her since a short time after I began working there because I was just minding my own business and she blurted out all of a sudden that I must have pulled in my parking space that morning in a hurry because I pulled too close to the fence. She thought that was just the funniest thing and said this in front of several people and I was slightly embarrassed. I was new there and trying to prove myself on the job (which is a temp to perm job) and why did she feel the need to point that stuff out ? I don't do this to people. What to do ?

I cant afford my monthly payment and am behind $1600.00. My dealership says they can get me a car loan on a less expensive used car with a co-signer and then to have my current vehicle repossessed. They said once I start making regular payments on the new auto loan, then my credit will bounce right back beyond the repo. Is this true? Is this something I should look into doing or is it a dumb idea? My current vehicle is a 2005 Dodge Neon and they dont make them anymore so the trade in value (even with my car in perfect condtion) is only 1/2 of what I still owe on it. What are your thoughts? Serious answers only please. Also if you have had this happen to you, please tell me your story. Thanks!!

My husband & I are thinking about doing an invitro fertilization procedure for infertility. The cost-$10,000 + and not covered by insurance. Is there any way we could write this off on our taxes? Maybe under medical expenses?

I have put in a few maintance requests that have never been answered. We had mould growing in our bathroom and ended up having to fix it ourself cause we couldnt wait and just leave it. The caulking around our tub is stripping and mildew is growing in there and it smells do they need to fix that? And now the power is out in our basement and no one has come after 4 days. Is that too long? We cant really move right now cause though because the rental market has gone crazy and there is no place at a decent price.

I love were I work!! But I get so nervous of my boss that every time I am around him, I always goof up!! What should I do. When hes not around I do such a good job but as soon as I see him I start dropping things and being a cluts and not thinking right and not listening right. I dont have a crush on him thats for sure, he just is a bully looking kind of guy and he really intimidates me! What should I do to get over this fear of him and show him I do my job well!! My assistant manager is always on my case, I work in a gold branch of a bank(CIBC) It doesn't matter how right I am or how good I can do something, she be-little's me, She is always right no matter what, She makes comments to me like, half a million people out of work and I have you, and other stuff along the lines, I have spoken to her about this,yet she continues,, Any advice for me, I have been in this position for 2 years now, I am back office support, So i work closely with her...
