prepare me for lifeinsurance companies interview

I ask because I want to move to Orlando--I did an internship there a few years ago, and loved it. I applied for a few jobs down there, but so far, no bites. I definitely want to end up down there, so I'm thinking about just packing up and moving down there and working whatever kind of job I can get until a better one comes along. I just graduated with a degree in technical writing, and I figure that now's the best time to do something like this--I'm young enough to where if I make a gigantic screw up that doesn't involve prison, I have time to fix it.

However, half of my friends are saying it's a great idea, but half of them are saying I'm crazy--now I'm uncertain what to think. Therefore, to muddy the waters even MORE, I'm going to ask what the loyal denizens of Yahoo! Answers think, because following complete strangers' advice is always a great idea. Have you ever gone through such a move? Did you regret it? Anybody want to hire a plucky, hard working technical writer?;)

If there are any foodstall holders out there who have hired foreign workers, I need your advice. I am planning to operate a foodstall soon, and I need to know the procedure of applying work permit. I just want to hire one worker. This is the FIRST time for me to get the licence, what are the necessary things for me to do upon application at MOM? The main thing is my side, what should I do beside producing the licence? I hope you can advise step by step.

I was using TaxCut 2005 and the cost of living adjusted amounts for the most recently released stats (tax year 2003) below were presented to me:

National Average
Wages $67,182
Interest Income 1,465
Dividends 2,308
Taxable pensions and annuities 22,921
Unemployment compensation 4,981

How is it there are that many people with that high of:
interest income
Dividends
and Unemployment comp?

I hope there isn't someone out there with these exact amounts or there is something wrong here. :-)

Does the taxable pensions and annuities line most likely just reflect retired people?

These figures scare me.

I rent an apartment and I cannot get hold of my landlord her phone number has been disconnected and a couple days ago someone came and took the dumpster from out back so now i don't have anywhere to put my trash. There are 3 other people who live in the building. No one else can contact her. I want to turn her in because I think the dumpster was removed because she didn't pay the bill. If i have to pay for trash removal can I take it out of my rent? Who would I contact to complain about her?

I filed my 2005 tax return as was getting a pretty sizable return. After calling the IRS they told me that I would have to file for 2001 - 2004 to make sure that I didn't owe them any money before they would give me the refund. I filed the taxes as they requested (for each year I had paid too much and was owed money) and they released the 2005 tax return and sent me the checks for 2003 and 2004, but received two letters saying that it was too late to get a refund for 2001 and 2002. After I called back I was told that they just wanted to have those years and file, but they would not be sending me the refunds. If they are the ones who requested me to file the returns shouldn't they send me the refunds? What can I do to get the refunds?

My wife is an extremely talented fashion designer (in high fashion). I am adept at selling and plan on selling higher end dresses ($40.00 retail and upwards) to smaller stores and chains (I prefer not to deal with the larger chains at this time nor do I want to compete with China). There are some things I know nothing about in this industry. They are:

1. Sales timing vs. seasonality of clothing items and how that selling opportunity window may vary with the size of the store or chain doing the buying. ie when do stores want summer items to arrive, etc. When do they quit receiving summer items? Winter items? Other special seasons?

2. What percent of manufacturer list do stores expect to pay. How does that vary by store size or item type?

3. What kind of return policy (to manufacturer), if any, do stores expect upon purchase.

4. Is there anything I should know about packing clothing for shipment?

5. Anything else I should know that I didn't know to ask here?
