I have heard that if you have worked in an accountancy type role that you may be able to become chartered without actually ever having an accounting degree.

Our lease is up next month and we have to give written notice that we are leaving. Does it have to say anything other then we are not going to be signing a new lease?

I'm doing research because I live in NY and my husband and I are tried of the ridiculously high tax rates. I just wanted to look at a list of the states from low to high as far as what their tax rates are. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

I just started a part-time job at a local department store about 3 weeks ago. My husband just got offered a better job opportunity that would mean relocating and so I would have to quit my job. I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I feel awful leaving after a few weeks, when I intended on staying there quite a while. What is the protocal? Should I still give 2 weeks notice while I'm in the probationary period?

I'm so utterly bored at work all the time...it makes me miserable. I've changed jobs about 5 times in the past year just because I get too bored in one place.

I'm very keen to join the Police, but I need to pass my driving test before they will accept me. Driving tests and lessons are all just one big expense and I keep failing my test on the most ridiculous silly mistakes. It seems to be taking forever. I can't afford to even re-book!

In short, I'm skint since leaving University...not earning the bucks I should be and am bored working lame admin jobs (it's all that seems to be available).

Does anyone know some ways to earn a few extra quid on the Internet? (not eBay, paid surveys etc as I already do all those)...whilst I'm at work...because I'm so bored and have nothing to do all day! HAHA!

Ok here where I work one of the guys who is the owner of the business's son in law refuses to pull his weight - when the owners are around (rarely) hes as good as gold but when theyre not he wont answer his calls - deal with customers - do anything hes asked really. Ive tried talking to him and he laughs it off and I dont want to be running to the owners telling tales due to the family connection - and the fact he never acts like this when they're around. Anyone got an idea on how to deal with him coz he's really getting on my nerves and Im finding it increasingly hard to keep my temper held.
Thanks guys! xx

I recently placed an order with a well known clothing retailer. I received confirmation for one order, but my checking account shows that I was charged twice for the order. Do I contact the store about the issue? Or do I need to contact my bank and contest/cancel the charge?

I just got my california real estate license. I was informed by several interviewing brokers that in addition to franchise or desk fees, i will be paying membership fees on local or national realty association as required by my state. Are these fees tax deductible? your reply is greatly appreciated.

I have a relative that is giving me approximately $225K. The relative will be cashing in savings bonds. Some of the bonds have my name on them (around $50k), the rest just have the relative's name.

How does the taxes work in this situation. What is the relative's tax burden, and mine? How do we report it? Is there any way to avoid taxes (ie: one time gift allowance)?

I am in the state of Texas, so there is no State Tax. The relative is in Louisiana, so there is a State Tax.
