In most instances, two weeks does not have to be exact (it is not like there is a clock running). It is more of a courtesy to allow your current employer to have you on hand while they try to replace you (in case there are any questions that only you could answer).

So it really doesn't matter the exact day of the week, just as long as you give them a little notice.

When I put in notice, I gave about 2 1/2 weeks notice.

I am about to quit my job too and will be giving two weeks notice on Monday. The main reason for this is that, even though I have gotten a verbal offer from my new soon-to-be employer, I do not have the written offer yet. I do not want to give notice before I have it in writing, otherwise I would probably give notice today. I say do whatever makes you more comfortable. Giving notice today might give your boss additional time to think about things that may need to be dealt with, tied-up, before you leave. But if you give notice on Monday morning, I think its okay too. It depends if you work at a company where they are going to expect you to stay the full two weeks or if you work some place that lets you go the day or the day after you give notice. Good luck!

Talk to your boss first thing on Monday morning. To be sure your last day will be Friday, say "I am putting in my two weeks notice. My last day will be October 20." (or whatever day that Friday would be)

I put mine in on a Friday, and was sent home in the next few hours. I discussed this with my new job and they let me come to work on Monday so I didn't go without pay.

Either. Just remember, your next employer may ask you how much notice you left at your previous job.
I suggest putting in your notice on Thursday or Friday.

You could do it first thing on Monday. You are letting them know that these are your last two weeks.

Or Friday. I would do it on Monday.
