I allowed net 30 on an invoice even though my contract was net 15. Now, they are a week over that date. I already sent the "gentle reminder" invoice. How long do I wait to send another reminder? How long to wait before taking them to court for payment?

I didn't get the job, just because I don't have much experience using a computer program in a workplace. I told the interviewer that I only learned using it in a class, but don't have experience using it at work. He said he's looking for someone who's already experienced.

When I read the description of the job, I knew I could qualify for it. It's only the computer program, such as Excel, which I've never or rarely used at work. And, I guess, I really didn't know how to sell myself effectively.

I was somewhat rejected and disappointed afterwards, because I was interested in working for this company.

In 1992, I was medically discharged from the Military after 8 years and the VA gave me 100% disability. I voluntarily chose 60% so I could continue to work in the civilian sector. I took my monthly checks since 1993 and invested them in various things (401K and mutual funds, etc..) and did fairly well and I am planning on financially retiring next year (Fall 2007). I want to make sure I don't have to go back to work. Can anyone give me things to consider so that I am not jumping the gun too soon. I have enough to live comforatbly and think I have considered factors such as cost of living, medical insurance, etc... I just wonder if anyone else has done this brave move and realized they had not thought of a future expense. I inherited a house, so my mortgage is paid, and I can handle the property taxes. Also, can I still collect S.S.? (Providing it still exisits when I'm 65)?

Thanks

I owned 1558 shares of a stock symbol BYOD.(they filed a section 11) and now it has been converted into a number symbol 103354106. The company for some reason is also being listed as BYDC currently. They also gave me 24 shares under the new BYDC stock name. I was wondering if what I own now is worthless and why I own symbol 103354106 now instead of BYDC or BYOD? I talked to a broker at etrade and they seemed confused too.

They have jobs where they make good money for a college students, but we have just enough money to get by and pay bills (we're both going to med and phar. school, so we don't work a lot because our classes are so hard.) (They are art majors) We buy a lot of groceries and have noticed that, they have not bought any real food since August, when we moved in. I think between the both of us that we have spent close to 1,000 dollars over this three month period. We lived without them by ourselves before and maybe spent thirty dollars ($400.00 over 2-3 months) a week on food for the house. I think this is nuts, but I don't know how to approach them without making them mad. Help me

I have put out over 45 applications via internet and pounding the pavement looking for a job. I am a Marine (now inactive) with a long track record of supervisory and management skills with a strong work ethic to boot. I put in at places I would be well suited for but never even get called for an interview. A long time friend calls me to let me know they are taking apps for a position in Logisitcs Management in a warehouse setting (My expertise) Being that she works in the HR dept she gets to review the applications. Out of three of us who put in for the position the least qualified person got the job. He didnt even put in a resume, had not held down a job for more than a few months at a time, had ZERO experience and completed a GED program less than a year ago. I have recently been informed that employers get better Tax breaks if they hire and train people in unemployment job pools or minorities on State assistance. Is this true??

Just wondering if this was standard. I think they should be liable if they could have prevented.

Thanks for any help.
