I use TD Waterhouse and E-Trade, but neither of these give me the ability to trade on the London Stock Exchange (online or over the phone). I am looking to occasionally buy and sell shares of British companies. Any recommendations?

I started working for a great organization 7 months ago. I have learned a lot and proven myself as someone who is not only competent, but intelligent and creative. Last week, I interviewed for another position within the same department. Before submitting my resume, I asked my supervisor if she would be okay with me applying for it and she gave me an encouraging, "go for it!" well, it's been a week and i have yet to hear anything. since it's been so long, i'm assuming that i'm not their first candidate, but shouldn't they at least tell me that I am not the right candidate? i feel as if i'm being slighted in some way. i'm fine with not having the new position; but i do feel as if their showing me no courtesy/respect at all in terms of telling me, "thank you, but no thank you." am i being too sensitive or am i justified? and if i am in the right, is it too bold of me to ask my supervisor what the status of that position is? serious replies only, please.

I am considering starting to charge finance charges (1.5% per month) to our customers who have balances over 60 days (our terms are net 30. I was wondering if I would create more work for our accounts receivable department or if customers generally pay the finance charges).

I work for a non-profit animal rescue. I am in charge in getting the grants, but all the foundations are so nit picky and I am having a hard time putting the proposal together exactly how they want it? Any suggestions from experience, or ideas on how to catch the viewer's eye?

Hi, I started getting interested in HUD homes so I can live in one. But now, I'm seeing some real advantage$$ in reselling one. Can I resell a HUD home in less than 6 months? Should I get or do I need a real estate license to do this? Do I need a lawyer present for buying a home? This will be my first home ever so I'd love any advice and greatly appreciate answers to my question.

I've just been offered a job. The salary is more than I am currently making, and I'm interested in the job. But the offer isn't as much as I was hoping for. How much should I counteroffer without asking for too much? 10, 20, 30%? Any suggestions would be helpful. I'm considering asking for a car too instead of the mileage pay they offered.

I can't stand my co-worker she doesn't do anything. She just sits at her desk and plays solitaire on her computer. While I constantly answer the phones and deal with rude customers. She also smells, and eats everything in sight. I'm not making fun of her I am just very frustrated. She is constantly making rude comments to me and she also told her family and friends that it's my job to answer the phones when it's not. She gets several phone calls a day from her friends and family. She also has her cell phone on at work and she'll talk on that when she is suppose to be working. She has been working here a lot longer than I have but thinks she is too good to be here. I really like my job and it has very good benefits. I just can't take on her work and mine.

I don't want to have to go through the bank and pay them the outrageous amounts they change for trading.

I work in an office where I am an assistant to the Director. Unfortunately, others in the office think that I am their assistant as well. In the past, I have been happy to help them with little things but now it is getting overly stressful. They have come to assume that I will do all of the stupid tasks that they just don't feel like doing, like phoning in an order or organizing their mail. I am fine with doing tasks like this for my boss (I know that's my job), but not for every joe in the office.
It is frustrating because I am already so busy that I don't have time to take on all of these tasks, especially not when they have time to do it themselves but just don't want to. Even worse, some of them are control freaks and give me a task but micromanage me the entire time. Even the Director does not check up on me or micromanage my tasks.
I am getting severely disgruntled!
I am not sure how to tell them "No! Do it YOURSELF!" in a polite and professional way.
Any advice?
Thank you!
