My mother and I have been having an on going debate because she leaves the TV on 24/7. She claims it is cheaper to do that because every time you turn it on or off it costs an extra nickle. And it also saves wear and tear on the on/off button. I say it is cheaper to turn it off when no one is watching it or when no one is home because it saves on electricity. Who is right and can you provide info or a link to a website that can prove who is right?

I have purchased a few properties, fixed them up and resold them holding the note. Can I report on the payment records, two of these people had bad credit histories, but have perfect payment records to me.

I plan to start a resale shoe business that will donate its profit to an organization that will help sexually abused children. And wanted to know how I could go about getting people to donate new or their gently used shoes. I have a few ideas of my own. But I would like ideas that will get many people to respond and make them keep responding.

My ideas are:

Have the local high school student councils have a "shoe drive"
Put a full page ad in the local paper
Put a "Donate you old shoes box/stand" at local shoe stores
And Flyers and more Flyers

I have always thought that a neat job would be to be a comsumer tester of vehicles for a company like Chevrolet, Ford or Hyundai. Kind a tester of vehicles from a consumer viewpoint rather than a trained professional. Does anyone know if such a job even exists?

I was offered a job today making $10,000 more a year than what I am currently making, the dilemma i am facing is that company needs me to start immediately, possibly this Monday. This leaves me with no time to put in my two weeks notice. I have never left a job on bad terms and if i was to quit with no advance notice it would leave my current job in a great strain, since we are currently short-handed. I would hate to miss out on a great oppurtunity if i turn down this offer, but then again I would hate to leave my current job in such a mess. Any suggestions?

What should my dad do ? he hired a real esate agent ( he should be call a incompetent person who unfrountnatly tries to sell other people homes) to sell his house he has had alot of problems with the guy from not effectivly marketing to overpricing thats where the problem is right now. The agent has a history of over pricing the last house he sold was for 25,00 under the listing price. He has listed my dads house for 229,00 at first 3 months ago and tried to sell it for month at that price to test out the market ( it was at reallly hot market) then we (I) told my dad to put it down to 219,000 its was up for another month with no real intrest. He took it off the market for a month so that he could rent it out instead off selling, now he needs to sell fast (in a week) Thier are ALOT of repairs in our house and other things that buyers wont like (not a finished basement. the main bathroom, Kitchen NEEDS to be redone, driveway, frontlawn, garage door sucks, bedroom floors stained )
