If you have had a job for a while, then you should be able to get credit at a department store. Try Macy's or JCPenny.

You could also get a co-signer or get someone to let you be an authorized user on their account. Both of those will establish credit for you.

Go to your bank and see if they have a credit card program through mastercard or visa. Most bigger banks like Wells Fargo, Wachovia, and PNC do as well as many other smaller banks. Having an account at the bank, they can see your history with them and if its good they'll most likely give you a chance.

Also, some banks offer a credit card that's linked to your account...it's not a check card because the amount of your purchase doesn't come out of your account immediately, but the total in your account is your credit balance so it will fluctuate. These types of cards also help establish your credit worthiness.

Keep your crediti rating at an A1 always, that is a 790 score or more. beleive me the creditors will be calling you begging for your business

The best way to start is to apply for a "student credit card". You can obtain an application for various banks at just about any university or college. That will help you establish credit. You see, when you apply for a "student credit card" banks don't expect you to have any credit history. In fact, it's best if you have no history at all. That will improve your chances of getting it.
