Do you think its ok to stop work for some years. My wife like to work and her income is enough for pay everything.
Before - in a period of 12 years, it was me working and her staying home, so don't you think its fair that its my time now.

Do you have an education??? Would you do the things she did when she wasn't working??? ( do laundry, pick up kids from school, wash dishes etc) If so then I think it's ok to switch roles sometimes. Take a break, I wish I could. Stop working!!

I don't know if fairness has anything to do with it, but it is something you and your wife should definitely discuss first. If you both feel that you can live on one income, it might not be a bad idea. Keep in mind, however, that you may end up being the "house husband", that is, doing all the stuff around the house. I'm sure you will get tired of that pretty quickly, so consider your options first.

Only if you think you can give a really good explanation why you didn't work for those years to a potential employer when/if you want to go back. Telling them you quit working because it was your turn (rather than kids or illness) is not going to make them want to hire you. They will think that you are just going to come and go as you please and they won't be able to rely on you. Plus it's just more common for women to not work. (say what you will about sexism) Men who don't work (unless retired) are just viewed as lazy or unstable. But, who cares what anyone thinks! If you want to quit and your wife is OK with that than go for it!!
