I quit a teaching job four years ago. Even with all the vacation time, teaching is a very stressful career. Since I left it, I am thankful every day that I was able to escape the stress. At one point an “opportunity” came up and I took a contract again. The deadlines, nonsense paperwork and hypocrisy made me feel like so dead and miserable. It was a great relief when it ended. How do people do this? Now I’m getting by doing low-pay work, hard work, but somehow I am more able to enjoy life. Being single and having no dependents makes it possible... probably a lot of people would “drop out” if they could. Being poor sucks, but I think I’d rather be dead than have to play those games every day. Do you have a similar story? Are there many of us? Can you recommend any books for people like us? Please, no sarcastic responses. Looking for sincere communication.

I am working on a conference call for my coaching clients on the topic of fear, as this often holds our clients back from buying and prevents business owners for taking action on things that would get them to the next level.

The problem is, most people don't see their fears until a lot of time has gone by and they are in a situation where they've lost a lot of money as a result of non-action.

If you think you know what your fear is, I'd love to hear it so I can address it. If you've been able to overcome the fear, tell me how you recognized it to begin with and what you did to overcome it.

Anyone that answers is welcome to participate in this paid call at no cost, as my thank you for helping me with examples.

A friend of mine has been working in this company for 7 years. Although dynamic companies have ups and downs, this company has been down for a while and on the verge of being bankrupt. I know of this because I was a former employee there and has been dismissed illegally. However, for the last 3 years, our old company is having trouble financially and backwage arrears (like government-mandated raise) have not been paid. Salary pay is delayed for like 3 payroll periods. Now, my friend and former co-worker found a new better-paying job. Since she plays a key position in the company (not a manager though) she tendered her resignation and having a big heart, she gave a 30-day grace period. Now the Human Resources would not accept it. Can she sue them?

My sister makes about $28k a year. She is a single mother. She filed Chapter 7 last year. She gave her landlord a 30 day notice that she was leaving. She has lived in the apartment for 3 years. Her lease renewed in August. The landlord called her and said she is responsible for rent until they re-rent the place and if she doesn't send the $$ they can file a judgement and garnish her wages. My sister has worked really hard to get this new place and she has done an excellent job on the accounts that have been opened since her discharged Chapter 7. She feels her only protection from the landlord is to file a Chapter 13. From what I know about Chapter 13's, your "disposable income" is used to pay your creditors. My sister really doesn't have any disposable income so can she even file a Chapter 13? Also, will she no longer be able to use her new credit cards she's been doing excellent on?

Who else does'nt buy the hype given by politicians that our future is bright so long as we "Re Train" for carreers in high tech or alternative energy? I guess six pack Joe can just change his colors overnight, get a degree in academia land and live happily ever after whilst wearing a lab coat......Laughable!! They can bring in what ever new phony jobs they want, but as long as American labor is under assault, the game never ends. I garauntee it won't be long after when these so called companies move in, that they'll ask for tax breaks and wage concessions or threaten to move out , just like all the others!!

Earlier I asked this question, but I'm hoping the time of evening will give me a larger audience. I need to know if a female nurse looking to pursue a bachelors degree in accounting will have a decent future in accounting. What are the opportunities for graduates with a bach in accounting. The goal is to graduate, get some experience and then open my own business. Is this a lucrative career? What other opportunities are there? I am tired of nursing and the risks of lawsuits that come with it. Direction please.
