Far better to quit.
That way, you don't carry hatred with you, so you can get on with your life without a desire for revenge.
Taking your own actions is always better than waiting for someone else to do it for you

It also looks much better when applying for next job, and you have to fill in the box on the application form which says 'Reason for leaving'

Some people who want to leave their jobs do stupid things so that they will get fired- this way they can collect unemployment insurance.

I would say that it it's way better to quit. No awkward explanations to a possible future employer, no worrying about negative references, etc. You always want to keep in good standing with former employers.

Don't need the money: quit and move on!

I've been fired/laid off several times. Those jobs never affected my future employment and I got unemployment on one (which is NOT enough to live on).

It's always better to quit, that way you don't burn your bridges.

In my opinion, it's definitely better to quit. It implies that there was something wrong with the job, not with you.

The fact that you were fired from somewhere wouldn't look too good in your resume. No one will want to hire you.
