I have read many answers on here to this question and most of them have confused me even more. I see often that the date the '7' year mark starts is actually 180 days prior to the date of last activity and then some one else says it's 7 years from the date of last activity. So say there is an account that the date of last activity was October, 2001 when would this account drop off the credit report?
Also can you legally have 2 seperate lines on your credit report for 1 account (the orig creditor and then a collection agency that was sold the account from the orig creditor)?

I've been told that the typical utility bill is $150-$300 in my apt. I'm curious if I could save in any way, being that I've never lived on my own. For instance, in the winter, is it cheaper to use a space heater in my room or turn on the heat? Also, I don't leave lights or the TV on when I'm not home. Any advice on how to cut costs? Thanks!

My landlord sold the house before my lease is up. I agreed to move but he will sign papers 2 weeks before the date I move. He says he won't give me my $2,000.00 back until the day I move and return the keys to him & he inspects it. He will not own the house at that point. Is this illegal? I need the money to move and can not wait until that day. Should I get the money the day he signs the bank papers?

I tried employment searching on my own and it's been 5 months, and i have nothing. So I now am going to sign up for a temp agency...I've done temp agencies before and they have jobs..but most are temps..And i actually want to have a stable job already, i've done too much temping. Do you think that temping is alright, and that it eventually lead me to a temp to hire job?

I am a Marketing Professional who strives to be the best I can be. But for quite some time I have found myself losing focus because of the poor office habits of one employee. This employee is absent from work 8 weeks of the year (2 allowed) and when they are here they are coming in 1-2 hours late, taking 2 hour lunches and going home early every day—coming and going without notification. A typical day of this person consists of chatting with other employees and talking on the phone with friends. The habits of this individual make it difficult to work in a team-based environment. Not only does this affect the moral of the team, it affects productivity. This behavior is very discouraging for those of us working 60 hours a week with very heavy schedules. Everyone in the office makes jokes but it isn't a laughing matter. I wrote a letter to our HR executive 6 months ago and nothing has changed. Did I mention this person is a Manager?

OK, should I move to Alaska.
Have a job offer to in Anchorage. Need to talk more
specifics of salary before I can make up my mind, but here is the scoop.
I am single (have been for 10 years :( and am currently living in S. Calif. Went back to college to learn new trade in the environmental engineering field, but having a hard time getting my foot in the door in the lower 48.
Not real happy in S. Cal. not the typical S. Cal gal, more outdoorsy tree hugger type. Have lived in several places but nowhere real cold. Did live in Kansas for 3 years which was cold, by that was 20 years ago. Visited Alaska 2 times. Went to Homer a few years ago by myself specifically to go kayaking and loved it. Of course it was summer.
So... want to go. Would like to meet a man while I am up there, but don't know if I am ready for that kind of cold and the dark thing.
Any feedback?

If one asked about my vacation and salary and I gave them the information will I still be considered for the job. Most people say never discuss salary but they were concerned because of my experience and many years with one company.

Did you have to change the locks and move his stuff out? How did that go down?

I'm trying to kick a rascal out of my apartment and it looks like it's going to get *ugly*.

We're working under Toronto roomate-roomate laws, so it's basically the wild west here.
