...you were working at a job and were planning to move but later found out that you are not going to move until 2-3 months later and your supervisor tells you she will offer you the job full time but only pay you $11 instead of the full $14 just because you're not going to be staying for long anyway and she'd rather hire someone she knows and if they find someone while you're still working you'll get booted...would you take it or leave it because of what she said?...

We had a meeting, we got some new software isntalled that's going to monitor what do see on the internet, and how long. He says he's going to be reading those reports and telling in front of everyone what are we watching on the internet. I admit I waste some time on-line at work, but the main reason he's doing that is because some people here are looking at adult sites and nude pictures. I haven't really stopped checking out my non-work pages such as the local newpapaer sites, Garfield, Dilbert, some sports pages, and Yahoo Answers. I think we deserve a break from time to time. I've never EVER seen any adult material at work, so I think I shouldn't feel threatened by that software. If my boss says on the next meeting in front of everyone I read Dilbert, sports, and the newspaper, I don't think that should be a reason for him to get mad at me.

Should I feel threatened?

Just found out my credit union approved me for a home equity line of credit up to 50k. I'm new with all this. How can I creatively use this type of loan to my advantage? In other words, how can I make more money?

I don't pay a mortage. I helped my mom-refinance last year. She has bad credit, so I co-signed for her. After I did that, my credit union approved me for the loan.

I'm highly interested in the field of 3d Animation, and am trying to find a fit for myself. I'm looking to pursue a job in this field ASAP. I'm a programmer, BS Computer degree and all, but am an artist at heart. I've been doing game projects and 3d plugin projects (i.e. character rigging, animation, etc).

Does anyone know about being a technical artist, and if so, could you provide some info on what they do? If not, does anyone know what might be a good "ideal job" for me in the 3d area?

And if someone that is reading this is in the 3d field (i.e. Computer Animation, Game Industry), would you mind corresponding through email if I have any more questions? Thanks!

My son's girlfriend who's 19 was recently kicked out of her home by her mother. She works as a manager for a local fast food and her mother is determined to make this girl's life miserable. The girl gives her mother her pay checks to pay bills, rent and food. I told son's girlfriend that since mother kicked her out she does NOT have to support her mother any longer. However, the mother is extremely abusive and has made quite a spetacal out of herself in front of the girl's co-workers so she continues to support her mom sending her pay checks to the woman.
I made a suggestion that she either get a checking account or start giving her mother money using money orders and keeping receipts in an envelope. Then at tax season, she could possibly count her mother as a "dependent"?
Is this possible? Does anyone know if this can be done or not? Otherwise it's simply not fair. She's living in 3 different places because she can't afford a home of her own.
Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm in management, looking for a store -grocery or departmental, hourly or salary that pays more then 12 dollars an hour. Based on previous work history where would you say that pays more then that (considering you dont have a degree but have years of experience)?

(Ps: I already have a job just getting an idea of what stores pay more)

my frind and I have decided to form a partnership where we'll design the wedding gifts that the bride's family gives to the groom, and the groom's family gives to the bride. fro example, the bride is given the wedding sari, and ornaments, and stuff like that. people sometimes need help to prepare the gift packs to make them look elegant and creative. If someone could come up with a name that we could use, it would be helpful. (P.S. we are not wedding planners, we only wud design the gift packs)

We have a huge tax bill from a couple of years ago. We do not make nearly the amount of money we did back then. My hubby is a trader and we lost all the money we put a side for taxes because we had to live off it.
Is there anyway to settle with the IRS for a less amount? I do not want to be under them anymore and it seems we will never pay them off. At this point we don't even have the cash for the monthly installment payment.
All our savings are gone because we have not made anything in the last two years. He is working but we are just getting by.
We have sold everything we just about own to get us back on our feet.
This is not a sob story because I know we will get back on our feet but taking care of this IRS issue is one of the steps to getting us there.
So any info would be greatly appreciated! :)
Thanks!
