I ran out of money, so I didn't finished college. However, I've been working since I was 18 on the business field. I work with 6 people who have exactly my same responsibilities, but they make 50% more than me. I work at a school part-time teaching English, and at another one teaching French. My boss always makes stay overtime, and come on Saturdays and Sundays, and she alwys threatens to fire me if I even mumble I have another job to go to. I dunno what can I do? I can't afford losing any of the 3 jobs, if I made the same everyone else I wouldn't need to have other jobs. But they don't want to give me a raise, even though I do better a job than everyone lese, I didn't graduate from college. I can't afforr to lose any of the jobs, I can't afford to go to college, or to work any less time to study for college. What can I do? She knows my situation, she's jsut mean.

I recently purchased a cell phone from a reputable internet company. The cell phone was shipped 2 day mail by UPS after 2 days I still had not recieved it. I looked on tracking and it showed it had come to Atlanta(where I live) and then for some strange reason it was sent to PA. 2 days after that after the box had been to PA, OH, KY, TN and two stops in GA I finally recieved my BOX. That is it, the box and the packing materials. The box had been opened from the bottom and someone threw a piece of tape over the huge hole in the bottom of the box and delivered the empty box on the door step without knocking. It was not stolen on the porch as a computer monitor was also delivered and it was fine. I have gotten cell phones from this company and I know it is not them. Has anyone had this problem before and how was it resolved. I heard there was a huge case with guns being stollen in shipment by UPS employees so now you can not ship them except overnight air.

I have a misdemeanor on my records for petit theft when I was 18. (almost 4 years ago.) It's the only thing I have on my records and I sort of forgot about it. I was in an interview today, and when I was filling out the application I didn't see the part where it asks about your crime history. When she looked over it, she asked me if I had any past crimes, and I said no. I had to fill out this form giving her information so she could do a background check on me. She said she wouldn't get the background check back for another 5 or 6 days, and she would give me a call then. When I got home, I remembered about my misdemeanor. I think I have a chance at saving this job. I want it so bad! It's a job at a high-scale new apartment complex. I don't know what their policy is on hiring people w/ a misdemeanor, but if it is allowable I'm sure I can fix it. Any suggestions?

I have two 401K accounts form previous companies I was working for. But one of them has only $1500 in it. After resigning, the account was set up by under one of the mutual company.

I have been paying around $30/year for the fee for the last 5 years.
Do you think I should close the account even though I have to pay 10 or 20% of penalty fee?

I am not sure if it worth keeping paying the annual fee for that account when there is no money going in there and has only $1500.

Could you give me an advice?
Thanks.

Or must it be done through a certain service or agency? We are a two-person business considering incorporating to limit liability and develop credit for the business itself. We would probably have 500.

I am 25 and married.

We own a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath home that will be paid off in less than a year.

We wanted to do a small remodel and upgrades in the house since is very 80's looking.

We planned to spend $50,000 on improvements.

My mother keeps telling me that I shoud keep the money and plan to use it on a down payment on another house one day.

She said if I kept it for a rental property the tenants might ruin my $50,000 upgrades.

She says I can keep my house now as rental income or I can sell it and buy another home and have a smaller loan.

I always assumed we would live where we do, but we don't have children so maybe we will move one day.

Is it rare someone lives in the same house for decades?

Or do people typical own several different houses in their life?

What do you think?

When you go to the bank for a loan, where does the money come from? Under the Bank Act, banks are prohibited from loaning out other persons deposits and also prohibited from loaning their own money.

Where does it come from then?

Just wondering whether it would be better to file taxes this year as a married couple or individually. Here is some info:

We both work full time, incomes of ~70k and ~50k
no kids
we rent, so no mortage deduction
live in CA, not sure if it matters

Any finance wizards out there? What are your thoughts?
