I recently purchased a cell phone from a reputable internet company. The cell phone was shipped 2 day mail by UPS after 2 days I still had not recieved it. I looked on tracking and it showed it had come to Atlanta(where I live) and then for some strange reason it was sent to PA. 2 days after that after the box had been to PA, OH, KY, TN and two stops in GA I finally recieved my BOX. That is it, the box and the packing materials. The box had been opened from the bottom and someone threw a piece of tape over the huge hole in the bottom of the box and delivered the empty box on the door step without knocking. It was not stolen on the porch as a computer monitor was also delivered and it was fine. I have gotten cell phones from this company and I know it is not them. Has anyone had this problem before and how was it resolved. I heard there was a huge case with guns being stollen in shipment by UPS employees so now you can not ship them except overnight air.

I called both the company who sold me the phone and UPS. The company is shipping me a new phone (They are a good company) UPS is doing an investigation? I just looked on line and there was a lot of stuff on UPS and thefts. I am not really "loosing anything" except that I have to go through about 5+ days more without a cell phone (I had the old one shut off to transfer the number) and I have to pay for service on a phone I don't have. The company activates the phone before they mail it. And I have had to use up a ton of my husbands cell minutes calling to resolve the problem.

The computer monitor was a flat panel. very light with a handle attached to the box I could have been easily carried away. This is straight out UPS THEFT. Don't trust them.

Yes, we moved from Boston to Sacramento. We shipped about 20 boxes. Half our stuff went missing or stolen. We itemized what was gone, maybe $2000, they gave us about $150 I think.

Was a HUGE problem for Fortune 500 Corporations, like Apple.

So they switched to DHL.

Stuff that is shipped by FedEx seems to get here about 95% of the time. When the alcohol driver is on shift, filling in, the packages make it 'almost' to our door, but, the labels get ripped off, (so they can't be delivered, by the drunk driver, while he spends that time in a local bar, drinking!).

Problem is that when they get claimed by us, we are told that it isn't their problem, as it "must be lost, from the other end, so it is Apple's problem" but, it made it all the way to the local tracking computer! That proves the drunk driver is the culprit!

Plus, when it gets back to Apple, there are no markings other than the Apple imprint, and "EVERYBODY" in FedEx knows where to sent that stuff!

So, we don't get credit for about $1,500 of goods each month!!!

We are just about ready to sue FedEx!

it still could have been stolen from your porch as a monitor is too heavy to haul away. but i'm sure stuff is stolen, but i guess insure stuff next time. not all ups employees are bad. you get bad employees everywhere. fed ex, dhl, mail, etc. it happens. sorry though. contact the local manager asap and show them the box, but if you didn't do it right away, i doubt they can do anything.
