Wow! People still using cheques (and for wages) thats amazing!

When I worked in payroll, we paid all staff by BACS and casuals/temps by cheque - all on the same day. There is no harm in asking for it a few days earlier but if they say no you will may need to budget your money by an extra week.

Most banks will pay against a wage cheque Kell but you might want to go see your manager and maybe arrange a small overdraft just in case

NOPE, sorry.

Paychecks are a complicated accounting process, that requires the filing of or approval of time sheets, checks being written according to a time schedule set by accounting methods, the signature of someone with approval to sign all paychecks and being batched for distribution.

You don't get to pick the day they write the checks, The accounting system and financial deadlines set those times. It isn't about YOU.

Go back to direct deposit if you want your check quicker.

When we used to get paid by cheque at work, the bank always honoured it straight away.

it would be the same. you get your check on 28th in your account automatically, and if you deposit it by check on the 28th it is the same. paychecks are available to you automatically at most banks. if you are worried about it. cash the check at the bank, then deposit the cash. this will give you instant access to it.

Nope.
If you deposit that check in your bank the day you receive it, you receive immediate access to the funds. It is done electronically and deducted from the employer's account immediately.

There is no float time today.
