I am currently fighting my ex-employer due to labor violations. One of them being not being paid overtime pay. I have apparently won my claim, however, my ex-employer is claiming I was on salary instead of hourly. I have argued this with the DOL but seem to be unable to get it through their heads.
My understanding of salary was that you get paid for the full 40 hours (provided you worked 3 days during the week) even if you were not their 40 hours. But the case worker is telling me different.
Is their any possible reasons the ex-employer is saying I was salary and not hourly that he would be using to his advantage?

My credit union recently charges me with $100 of NSF fees. On 8/30 I checked my accout online and my balance was 35.00. I made a deposit of $300 the following morning (8/31). They gave me a print out showing my acct. balance of $335.00. The day of the deposit I logged on to the bank website to check my accout and it never showed any checks that cleared. Today, 9/1, I logged on and there are four checks that posted on 8/30 and four NSF fees charged on 8/31. I think they should refund the NSF fees because at the time of my deposit I was under the impression that I had made the deposit intime to cover the checks I had written, what do you think I should do? This is not the first time this has happened.

I lived with a man that paid all my bills and I wasnt working. I got store credit cards and jacked them up b/c I would be so bored at the house. We broke up and now I'm stuck paying for them! It was such a STUPID thing to do but at the time I was enjoying it. Just wondering who else was going through this and how you are coping.

I have website (not yet up) that will come out where you can log on and play some games against other players on the web for free. I want to see if the games are good enough to maintain interest, and thus if enough people really are interested in signing up for free, see if there is a market for it for a small cost.

Anyhow, initially, all I want to do is get the word out to see if people want to try it out for free. I don't want to do anything like spamming or things like that, and I do have money to spend on marketing ideas if that is the best way. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

He moved out and is no longer paying the mortgage on the house. He gave me the grant deed and also P.O.A. over him. What can I do if he doesn't pay? Will his credit just get shot or can they take the house? How can I put the mortgage in my name? It's been almost 3 months now.

My husband and I were married in January I was wondering how this effects our taxes at the end of the year? Will it be beneficial? Or hurt us? We are both claiming zero right now on our w-4s so the most money possible is taken out. The other thing is I make a lot more money than he does, we're talking like double the money, can I claim head of household, or does that only apply to children? Any suggestions? Please also no smart remarks I'm tired of people being jerks.

There is quite a degree of risk with a merge, not all transitions go smooth and some enterprises can end up loosing money if they are not careful. So I understand if this creates uncertainty among stockbrockers.

On average, do share prices go up when a company announces a merger?

Are people taking an awfully big risk when they invest in an internet company like Google.

Their profit is relatively tiny for a company with such a high share price. Why invest so much money in a firm that only shows a small net profit. Google doesn't make anything or even sell that much.
