I'm not but I have friends who are. Oh wait, do mean the British form of the word, i.e. one who dispenses pills and such? Or the American form of the word, meaning mixing chemicals and such?

For the British form, I have no idea. But their American counterparts make a very good living.

If you mean the American verision: You'll need more than a B.S. degree. W/ nothing but an undergrads degree you'll pretty much be relegated to 30-40k/year jobs analyzing soil samples and the like. If you want to work in the Chem field, you'll most definitely need further education. A friend of mine has a Ph.D in Chem Enginerring, and he scored his dream job right out of school making insane bank. He's also insanely brilliant.
