As soon as you are hired you are then bonded. It is a incentive for employers to hire ex cons. They are covered for 50 thou in theft and up to 300 thou in damages you may cause. It will be up to the employer to make the claim, not you. So just inform any potential employer that you will be insured so to speak. Plus I think they get a tax break for hiring an ex con.

Depends on the state and the occupation, for instance to do security work in Virginia you cannot have a criminal record. (however it is appealable).
