I'm in management, looking for a store -grocery or departmental, hourly or salary that pays more then 12 dollars an hour. Based on previous work history where would you say that pays more then that (considering you dont have a degree but have years of experience)?

(Ps: I already have a job just getting an idea of what stores pay more)

It depends oh where you are at. I worked in CA in the grocery business and it payed very well, even as non-management because the labor was all union so management was paid well enough to attract people. Incomes nearing and exceeding $100K a year were possible for managers.

However I know grocery isn't that lucrative everywhere. It definitely isn't here in TX though you could get $12 in a supervisory capacity.

Chains that are known to pay well above average AND offer decent benefits include:
1. Costco (i think they have a $10 min for new hires so managers must make quite a bit more and they do give regular raises).
2. Whole Foods
3. Lowes
4. Home Depot (here in TX where groceries are paying $7, HD pays $15)
5. Nordstrom

I know that when you work for a larger brand there's an opportunity to make more. (I know that Bath and Body Works pays a lot, so I can assume that the entire limited family does as well.) Oh, and the discounts are AMAZING!
Gap, inc. paid well when I worked for them, too.

I know that Z Gallery pays really well for retail- and you get a great discount!

I was at Mervyns about 6 years ago and they started the cashier's at 11.50 so I would think the management would make considerably more

Costco pays the best and has the best benefits in your field of work. That is my understanding.
