I'm an black woman who is currently growing my hair out from having a very short haircut. I haven't had a relaxer in about a month. I'm washing my hair twice a week, deep conditioning and "greasing" my scalp, I'm currently wearing a wig so that my hair can "rest" or what I'd like to call detox. What are some hair products and lines for women of color to help with keeping my hair soft and managable without breaking it off. Also what are some hairstyles that I can wear that doesn't require me to have my hair relaxed?

I have very very curly hair, it poofs out like a ******* aphro. lol I am serious and I am white. I don't want a straightener made for african-american people cause I have heard it can actually burn my hair.

Thats the last thing I need, anyway any suggestions for taming this frizzball I have lol?

My hair is natually curly and wavy. when i blow dry it i usually put straighting gel in it and then some sleek and shine cause it is so thick i have to keep the friz down. Anyway after i blow dry it it is straight then a couple of hours later the back of it looks like i didnt even brush my hair. Is there some certain product that i can use that is doesnt do that?

I am a man with fine hair who likes to look as good as I can. I have had my hair permed and it looks good for four - six weeks but then the perm starts to grow out. My hair stylist suggested setting my hair on small curlers which she did. The result was good and I have continued to set my hair. Some people think I am crazy and it has been suggested that curling a mans hair like that is "not right!" On occasion I have been seen in public with curlers in my hair and there have been some rude remarks and lots of strange looks. So the question is - What is wrong with men wearing hair curlers and what is wrong about going out in public with curlers in a man's hair?

I have this friend with a mane of long, gorgeose, really tight corkscrew curls. I think they're to die for, but she allways says that she wishes her hair could be strait for just one day to see what it looks like. Her hair is the curliest head I've ever seen, and with strait hair she'd look like a completly different person. Anyway we have a really good quality hair straightener, and I think it would be fun like at a sleep over to straighten my friend's hair temporarily to see what she would look like. It's just a hair straitener with no chemicals or anything.

However, it would be a nightmare if her curls didn't come back for a while. Her mom would kill me. Would straightening this girl's hair be a safe thing to do? Would her curls come back the next time she would wash her hair? I have pretty strait hair so I have no idea what cork screw curls tend to do.

I have had an appt booked for months for a haircut (and colour - see previous question) as my stylist is very popular. Unfortunately it turns out I have a night out that night (my appt is 6.45pm) - do I cancel the hair appt (she has no other appts and already has a cancellation list) and have crap hair for Christmas etc. or do I miss the night out?
