Meet in a place like a coffee shop. No bars. Plan only a short meeting to size the situation up. Have a reason it can not be an hours long thing. If anything clicks plan on a later get together. Make sure someone knows where you are.

Aside from what ^ said about being careful and meeting in a public place, I suggest trying to keep it casual with no expectations. I chatted with a man I met through an online dating site for a few months and we were SO excited about meeting. In person, however, there was NONE of the chemistry that we had experienced on the phone all that time. Because we both had such high expectations and such high hopes, it was quite a let down. Just be careful.

No reason not to. I have done it in the past.. be sure to meet at some place public. And leave before he does. See how it goes and if you like him make another public date...

It is really dangerous meeting people online and then going to their house without knowing so much. If you want to meet why don't you meet him in public such as a nice restaurant.

I suggest pepper spray or a taser concealed in your purse,... that,.. or mace just in case! :)
