When you see a semi-permanent or demi-permanent dye, the number of washings it lasts for isn't just actual shampoos. It's also the number of days that it takes the color to fade.

There are many home remedies that supposedly remove dye. I can't vouch for any of them (I've never needed to remove dye) but you may want to try them.

1. Mix a solution of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts lukewarm water. Rinse her hair in the solution, let sit for 5-10 minutes. Wash out with a strong clarifying shampoo, or even Dawn.

2. Alcohol in hairspray can remove dye from fabrics, to use the same method on hair, try rubbing alcohol. Saturate the hair, let sit 5-10 minutes, and rinse out.

3. Apply a mix of lemon juice and cream of tarter, let sit 5-10, rinse out.

4. Saturate with a solvent, like tea tree oil, let sit 5-10, rinse out.

5. Get a color removal product at the store. Beware, these will take the dye out, but also the pigment of your daughter's natural color. So you would need to re-dye her hair back to it's natural color. This is very harmful on hair, especially young hair.

To avoid any problems, call your salon and ask what they recommend. Or be safe, and just let them do it.

Not really, but these tips may help. Using a strong detergent shampoo like Prell may help, If you don't have any handy laundry soap may do the same. Don't panic, this WILL fade off. It's a mousse color, so no permanent work has been done here. Blonds like your daughters hair obviously fine will grab these funky colors , but fortunately they have to let go also. Do not , I repeat do not use any bleaching products. This may drive the color into the hair shaft. Then you got problems. It will fade, I promise. Hope this gives you hope. Good Luck.

clarifying shampoo for 5-10 mins may take much of it out, it ruins professional color jobs. hope this helps and good luck!
