I have very dark brown hair and not so long ago did I do highlights on my hair (because of my hair color, the highlights came out to be a bondish/orangy color - did it it a salon), but I want to get rid of them now. Would it be better to dye my hair to a dark color on my own or do it in a salon. Since the highlights came out being so orangy, Im afraid that when I dye my hair, it wont come out good. Recommendations....?

I want to add some highlights but want something not expensive or complicated that I can do at home or pick up from walmart for women of color that does not damage my hair. My hair is black and I am african american. Maybe like light auburn or plum color.

I have been to see my GP and a dermatologist. I have had blood tests done which have been normal. I am only 22 and open to suggestions. My dermatologist reccommended regaine but as soon as you stop using that, the symptoms come back. I am open to alternative therapy suggestions.

I have naturally long straight, black, shiny hair and am thinking of getting highlights to give it a new look. I was thinking of getting red highlights (and I mean red red like the color blood). Has anyone done that before? Any other advise/suggestions I can use? Should I get brown highlights instead.

I have dyed it the first 2 times by myself and it came out to be an orange-reddish color. A professional did it and covered some of the orange but it is still there especially in my roots and the bottom is light brown??? She said it is hard to get red out but I could have done what she did. She did my hair one week ago. Is it okay to dye my hair a light brown semi-permanent or should I wait longer?

Q: I have naturally dark brown hair that I got highlighted about 4-5 months ago. The highlights are a gold color with light brown color all over as the base ala Jessica Alba. My roots have obviously come in, and this time instead of retouching I'd rather just go back to my natural color. How would you recommend doing this without going to a salon? I'm scared to damage my hair, but I really can't afford the salon treatment. Any ideas?
