I want to wear my hair in a roller set but not a tight one .....?

I hate the way they look right after they are done my hair looks short and the curls tight , I call it the grandma look. How can I do it at home and have soft curls that look cute and just flow?

Use Motions setting lotion and try larger plastic rollers for softer, flowing curls.

take the hot curler and some hair spray and then curl it this should give you the soft curls that you want, then when you are finished get a feather comb and then feather comb it going in a circles and then in the back brush it going up and then pin it so now you look like you have a short fly hair cut but really your hair is going up in the back and it should work try it. Use larger rollers or add more hair to the rollers or do not roll your hair to your scalp. I've been rolling up my hair nightly for the past 10 years and the past two I been wearing spiral curls. Just roll up the ends of your hair.

to get the gramma look the rollers are set 'on base'.
if you want softer curls either use large rollers 'on base' for volume OR use your regular rollers 'off base' for curls on the ends with no volume at the roots.

for 'on base' , overdirect the hair (opposite direction from rolling direction) and roll. pin.

for 'off base' , pull hair in the direction it grows (or direction rolling) and roll. in order to pin you might need to pin hair to the roller instead of the scalp.

just the ones that require the use on the pins (not bobbi pins) and dont roll them all the way to your scalp....keep them away from the scalp when you cruel....that way it wont be tight and when you take them out they'll loose!
