I like to act, sing, and dance. I am wondering how much experience I need to go on auditions for short films and whatnot. Of course, I understand you have to start small, but my friend told me that she HATED being an extra, and that next time, she's going to be auditioning for a more important part. I know I should get an agent, but how do I ask my parents? I mean, I have a lot of friends who say I should just do it, but it's not that simple, you know. Dakota fanning, Annasophia Robb, and a bunch of other child actors got their parts because they were simply good and their parents were supportive. My parents are, well, different. I don't really know teir opinion on my wanting to be in shorts and stuff. sure, I've done community theater, but that's different! I mean, I've seen resumes for some professional actors and they didn't do many plays or things on Broadway (which is another thing I'm looking into). Help, PLEASE!

Of all of Shakespeare's masterpieces, which would be your top 10? (Notice you could even include the Sonnets which I would include.)

Many hate all of Shakespeare but for those who like him, which of his plays don't you like and why?

I have to admit that I find something to admire in everything he writes since just his language is amazing. Obviously, King John is not as interesting as King Henry IV Part I. Which do you think are less interesting?

Those two plays by Shakespeare along with Troilus and Cressida and of course, Merchant of Venice, are considered to be problematical. What do you think of Measure for Measure and All's Well that Ends Well?

(Personally, I find some of the characters such as Pompey Bunn to be hilarious.)

. . . would you list along with it as great movies of the century? Do you think of these primarily as entertainment or as art? If you were classifying them for a reference book would you be more likely to discuss them under the heading Theater and Film or Television and Movies?

I'm 15 and I really want to be an actress.I live in a small town that hardly anyone knows about if any.My parents don't have a lot of money so they can't pay for lessons in acting so I can't get any experience. My school is small so we don't do plays & all that stuff.I'm a little shy but I'm coming out of it because I know you can't be shy if you want to be an actress. This is a dream of mine & I want to be an actress because I love acting & I think it would be fun.I'm not going to say it's not for the money because everyone wants to have money, but I will say that the money isn't why I want to be an actress.I have no way of acting in commercials or plays so if anyone knows how a person in my situation could get into the acting business please help.Oh yeah & my parents aren't that supportive so if there was a way to act in a commercial or something they wouldn't take me.When school starts my friends & I are going to get a camera & act out our favorite shows so it should help with shynes

My six 1/2 year-old daughter loves the song "Popular" from the musical Wicked and has seen a video clip of "Defying Gravity." But I have a feeling that the rest of the play is going to have some inappropriate material for a little kid -- too scary or too sexually suggestive. A traveling cast is bringing it to my city in a few months. Should I take my daughter to see it?
