Craigslist has a section for film/tv postings. Check under your city. The opportunities available depend entirely on where you live. If you are in NY or LA, Backstage magazine is one of the best resources. You may just have to sniff around, call your city Film Commission, the local branches of SAG/AFTRA, and any universities with a film department. Film schools will periodically hold group auditions for their current student directors. Even your local theatres may provide some contacts, as some people spill over from film into theatre.

Usually college film departments hold those auditions. You should call up your local college/university film department.

P.s. that is a VERY good way to start an acting career. I'm glad you've done your research.

Good Luck

Are there film schools in your area? Contact them.. they are always looking for actors.

If there are no film schools (or college film courses) in your area, don't expect any "Student Films" to be shooting in your back yard... they don't travel to you... you travel to them.
