Some beautiful actresses come to mind, but these were pin ups!

Rita, for sure, Jeanne Crain was a lovely one. Hedy LaMarr was breathtaking. Lauren Becall was sexy & sultry. Veronica Lake, Cyd Cherrise had legs to die for. Debra Paget was beautiful, but didn't make many films. Lana Turner was hot!

I loved Debra Paget, but I never hear much about her any more. She was a dancer, very pretty, and built very sexy. Susan Hayward, pretty young when I was a child, was also a very vivacious actress. I know that most people now associate Bette Davis with "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte", "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane", and perhaps even "All About Eve", but she was a very beautiful young actresss with mesmerizing eyes and fantastic legs, shown up to advantage in WWII pin-ups that I saw all over the place as a child. More important, she was a very competent actress with wonderful traianing and a workmanlike attitude, not a temperamental star. Don't forget the pre-makeover Marilyn Monroe, a successful model with her REAL looks before they turned her into a baby-blonde bombshell, making her debut in "All About Eve" in which, ironically, her casting in an utterly irrelevant walk-in was a real-life instance of the role Ann Baxter played as Eve Harrington, who with shrewdness and a false veneer of innocence upstaged aging movie star Margo Channing played by aging actress Bette Davis. In real life, Ann Baxter was a competent, hard-working actress who was upstaged by lesser talents, but the movie gave Bette Davis a new lease on life as a star moving toward more mature roles. I confess that, as a teenager, I lovedJane Wyman even in her mature roles. Don't forget Wendy Hiller, star of "Pygmalion", Lauren Bacall, many others. Grace Kelly was unexcelled, and, of course, there was the former German star gone Hollywood, Marlene Dietrich. And, hey, what about the greatest actress of modern times, Helen Hayes?

"On the Waterfront" was with Marlon Brando, Eva Marie Sainte, and Karl Malden--oh, and a terrific Lee j. Cobb

Audrey Hepburn and Deborah Kerr. Both are amazing actresses! You have to watch Roman Holiday (Hepburn) and On the Waterfront (Kerr) to know their acting prowess.
