My daughter came back from two weeks of acting camp in LA last month. She got positive feedback from two hollywood acting coaches. They both said "why are you in acting camp? If you moved out here you'd be working tomorrow."

Apparently the big advantage with her and why people would be interested is that besides the fact that she's pretty, she's 13 but at 4-6, 60 lbs can pass for 9-10 100% of the time. So she can be cast young but is able to work overtime (employment law) and take direction better than someone younger.

My daughter is extremely motivated, but she needs representation. I guess what I'm looking for is an agent who reps kids who will give us the time of day. If I can find a few agents who will give us the time of day I'm willing to fly both of us out for a meeting, for a quick trip in anticipation of getting signed and coming back in January for pilot season. Can anyone give me advice on the best way to accomplish this?

This is a long shot, since I've searched the Internet already, but does anyone know of a filmed version of Sophocles' Oedipus the King (Oedipus Rex) that uses the Bernard Knox translation? I've found a series of educational tapes (Massachusetts Council for the Humanities, in 1958 or 1959) that use excerpts of the Knox version, but not an entire production.

Knox's translation is the most accessible, most colloquial and dynamic translation for use with regularly-tracked high school students, in my opinion.

I am a 14 year old Vermonter and have been in many acting gigs such as captain vonn trapp in the sound of music, Bentley in clowns, Long john silver in treasure island, and Tony in the westside story. I also have won a few awards for singing. I have gotten money for stand up comedy but the only major acting gigs movies/broadway are in colleges which will only take me for very small rolls. I could go to a large city during the summer and stay with my aunt she has asked me to. My aunt thinks I could make money acting during the summer but my aunt is always gone and i don't feel comfortable staying alone all day in the rich community of million dollar condos my aunt lives in. But the possibility of landing a movie or commercial gig and making cash even in a small roll and possibly launching my acting to a carreer. I already spend all my time out of school either with friends or acting. My aunt has also gotten me accepted to 2 charity concerts should i pursue acting

So my background is in theatre, has been since I was a boy, hence I have a healthy bias towards theatre, though I'm a big movie fan too.
Say I offered you the money to buy either a ticket to see a theatre show or a ticket for a movie, which would you choose and why?

I've been in plays and my teacher said I was one of the best!
Like how can I be in a show where do you go to try out for an actress because I love to act. And I'll do anything for an acting career. I've been trying so hard, but I just don't know how? Please help.
Thanks.

im about to be a sophomore at my highschool, and this first year has been an eventful one.
i came from my junior high with my best friend, joy and a reputation as the "top actress." i was excited like crazy, cause i love the stage, but also nervous...just cause it was highschool.
the new drama teacher, we'll call him johnson, seemed to like me. and my best friend too. he even gave us both roles in the fall play (which he normally doesnt do for freshmen). when joy got a bigger role than me, i was super excited for her. i really was. but, eventually, she began to get really annoying, cause i think it went to her head. she really did seem to think she was better than me. im not saying that im better than her, just that i feel we are equals. when the show ended, she still was talking about it, and being really cocky about it. when it got the be the spring musical, i got a bigger part than she did. she seemed really angry with me. im afraid that next year will get worse. wat shud i do?

The setting will be either 1895 or 1897, in northern Utah. The villain is after the heroine's land because there he thinks it's got a huge silver motherlode on it. It's also got a parody of John Wayne going on when it comes to the hero. Should I just look for a John Wayne movie and make a new title based on one?
