I am a 14 year old Vermonter and have been in many acting gigs such as captain vonn trapp in the sound of music, Bentley in clowns, Long john silver in treasure island, and Tony in the westside story. I also have won a few awards for singing. I have gotten money for stand up comedy but the only major acting gigs movies/broadway are in colleges which will only take me for very small rolls. I could go to a large city during the summer and stay with my aunt she has asked me to. My aunt thinks I could make money acting during the summer but my aunt is always gone and i don't feel comfortable staying alone all day in the rich community of million dollar condos my aunt lives in. But the possibility of landing a movie or commercial gig and making cash even in a small roll and possibly launching my acting to a carreer. I already spend all my time out of school either with friends or acting. My aunt has also gotten me accepted to 2 charity concerts should i pursue acting

Well...i myself am a stage fiend. I absolutely love being on stage. The feeling of the burning lights coming onto you causes a fever in me, and i start to burn with the fact that i am no longer who i am..but instead my own character. And the best part is...i'm good. People tell me i'm good. I've been straight up offered the role of Juliet without an audition...good...

However...

my parents don't support me.

Ever since i've been doing drama in school or wanting to audition for things outside of school...my parents have always considered it secondary. Studies first...this acting nonsense later. But i love it so much that i would easily put it first. I would love to go through to a career in acting, but i know it's forbidden...

so here is my bit of advice for you...

go for it. you have support behind you...you have talent within you..and you have a chance in front of you. Not a lot of people get that opportunity, and you do. Take it and run with it.

Best of luck.

You know that you would be able to make it in the theater world physically, but what you have to decide is whether you'll make it emotionally. You have to be committed and have time to practice. It wouldnt be a once a week commitment, the work continues when you get home- as you know.

Good luck!

I got the best advice about that.
It is a hard buisness. And if you can see yourself being happy in another career, you should probably do that. But if you can't... then what have you got to lose? Go for it.
