My daughter came back from two weeks of acting camp in LA last month. She got positive feedback from two hollywood acting coaches. They both said "why are you in acting camp? If you moved out here you'd be working tomorrow."

Apparently the big advantage with her and why people would be interested is that besides the fact that she's pretty, she's 13 but at 4-6, 60 lbs can pass for 9-10 100% of the time. So she can be cast young but is able to work overtime (employment law) and take direction better than someone younger.

My daughter is extremely motivated, but she needs representation. I guess what I'm looking for is an agent who reps kids who will give us the time of day. If I can find a few agents who will give us the time of day I'm willing to fly both of us out for a meeting, for a quick trip in anticipation of getting signed and coming back in January for pilot season. Can anyone give me advice on the best way to accomplish this?

I definitely recommend The Abrahms Agency which has an office in NY and LA. They have a huge amazing childrens department and an internal casting department.

You should send them her headshots/resumes/demos if you have any.

I'm an adult actress and I've helped my friend's kids break into the biz. The best thing I've found is to go to a drama book store or the theather section at any Major book store and read up on the pitfalls , traps and scams of getting your child in the biz. After that I would get a CURRENT list of KID AGENCIES. Call them and see which one has open calls.

You can also get a pic. done. Just make sure it's not more then say 200 bucks. Child pic. should not cost an arm or a leg. She should look natural. Not like she's trying to look older. Get someone who is experienced. A referral is best. Then have it produce and do a small mailing to the agencies in the book. Try mailing them out with EZ envelopes. They are see though so the agents don't even have to open up the envelopes. Make sure to write a short, fun cover letter w/ all your contact info. Then who ever calls you in , look them up on google and on SAG. org to make sure they are legit.
Lastly, make sure that you and the agency have the same vision. There are lots of agencies but that's your baby so if they don't feel right then go to another one.

Good luck!
