Theater & Acting - July 2006

I am interesting in learning to act ( I have absolutely zero experience----but it seems fun).....anyone have experience with this...how would I go about signing up for an acting class if they did allow it. My college is a medium sized (almost 4,000 undergrads) catholic school if thata at all important

During an audition, when performing a monologue/ audition piece, where do you look. This confuses me, because I've heard that you should never look at your auditioners, but then where do you look when in the audition piece you're adressing someone or the audience?

I played Lady in Orpheus Descending. I think I was too young. Anyway- We did paper the house from time to time and I gave my school friends freebies yet after the performance not one came round to see me and I had my own little dressing room.Is'nt that mean?

I just got a pair of black 2in footlights to wear in my summer show. I've been wearing the m around the house to get used to them. Can I where them outside to get to rehersal or do I have to wear other shoes and change into my show shoes there?

I'm in Houston Texas and my mom died when I was just 13 and I used to cry and take that out on everyone around me until many people used to tell me I should be an actress then I never thought about it but one day I was sitting down and started thinking hey this is my thing I grew up acting in elementary and I want to pursue this goal and I wont let anyone stop me.
