I wrote this some time ago but this is the season for it again. Do you have someone you want to send it to?

the Yuletime season has arrived
A time for love and cheer
But you have treated me
Like a dog
During all of this past year.
You haven't done a thing, my dear
To cause my heart to melt
So I will hang my mistletoe
At my back
Down on my belt!

'Utopia'

There -
The not-place:
Island of ideals, paradise perfection,
Where,
In fields of gold,
Life is peace and Earth is free;
There,
Pure harmony,
No suffering, and eternal youth.

Here –
The ill-place:
Decaying paradise’s grave
Where,
In fields of blood,
The bullet rules and lies are truth;
Here,
Ideals exist,
But exist alongside man:
The element of destruction.

Water

Falling down around the edges
Pooled droplet domes
A crease in the sand
Trickling, flowing
Directionless meandering
Joins the enjoined, tributary
To stream, and river’s torrent
Engulfed, saline fusion
Sea to Ocean current
Challenger Deep
Evaporation

Time

Upon my watch, three hands tell me the time,
The mirror shows a different degree,
Forgotten thoughts with words that do not rhyme,
Meander down the road to lunacy.

Shine your shoes up!
Put on your tie!
Let’s go outside…
And find a place to fly!

Come and gone for me to see, believed,
The ocean tides, rivers wide, crimson sky,
How will I know when God has called to me?
Upon my watch, three hands tell me the time.

at the gates

At the gates I yearn for you,
Your guile and my need.
I feel your lips upon my cheek,
Crushed, I fall down to my knees.

Abandoned, left alone to cry,
I've been cursed and sacrificed.
My tears freeze in the icy wind,
Remembrence is my will.

In the world in which I only live,
I look at you for one last time.
Driven away by my own damn pride,
I am chained to you forever.

Long, lost and forgotten,
I know now I will never see the light.
The feelings and emotions,
On that chilly, black October night.

The world is just keeps right on turning,
So do I but without you.
In the shadows I remain forever,
I once was young and never knew.

THE ANCIENT PLAINTIVE SONG

The wind blows over the fields now
As it did so long ago
And through the grass on the silent mounds
Its notes begin to blow
A plaintive tune
To which we bow
As we stand on these grounds
And think not yet of what we sow
Beneath the meadow's brow.

We've planted many fields.

And still the wind blows on.

Knowing what we know not,

Receiving what we've sown.

We stand and fall, but think not,

As wind blows on and on.

Blow to a flame our embers,

Warmth that now rests in earth,

Sinews rejoin to members,

Give to the fallen birth,

Those of the wars long past

The silent rebound at the trumpet,

Graves break with life at last.

Summer Storm

The gray sky darkens
Silver leaves upturning
Crashing, pounding, now resounding
Flashing, singeing, nature cringing
Torrential floods begin
Thirsty earth drinks in moisture
Harder still the rain it lashes
Suddenly the lightning flashes
And a large limb breaks and crashes
Dying as the storm now gone.

On Waking from a Dream
I walk through the sky every night on my way to dawn

And in my dreaming pass countless stars upon the way

Aurora's skirt my trail upon the coast that marks the northern sky

And meets the rainbow as it dips to earth

In myriad colours as my eyes flash into light

Clouds give way to sun and darkness disappears

As once again the day takes hold anew

My feet refreshed begin a firmer course.

your head, and tell me what it is and what you think! thanks!
Here it is:

Dark, damp forest. Far away from the town, secluded. Leaves scattered around him, leaves, a soft bed for him to lay his weary head. Tall trees, tower over him, blocking out the sunlight.
Laying his head down, his mind can wonder. Explore into the depths, relive those memories once lost.
Lie still, my dear, and build up your strength. The past is now; the present is gone. Block out those bad times and fill up your mind with the cherished memories.
The world is yours.

Cafe Euwaite

Neon OPEN sign tilts in the window,
Torn green umbrella, flower pots empty,
Café Macabre lunchtime special prices,

Remade soup d’jour, chilled bat brain compote,
Salad of new mown hay with salt water,
Mocha Represso, bad telling tea leaves,

Nameless meat sandwiched with wilted lettuce,
Condiments thick red, flavorless mustard,
Jellied desert, brown mounded form,

How much, the tab for this indigestion?
And the tip for the author, “Find a profession.”

Destinations

Maps cannot show where the road doesn’t go,
To places mistaken for paradise,
Oasis of spaces, lofty plateaus,
Of valueless vanity sacrifice,

Faces collide,
Fratricide follows,
And wallows in pride,
Having lied and gotten away with it,

I try to deny that I asked God why,
And wished every time, to hear a reply,
I’ve said all the words and read all the books,
Maps cannot show where the road doesn’t go.

Obsidian

Dry grass rustles, dampening senses,
Ears twitch at every snapped twig.
Resting in rows, leery of hunters
Bow and arrow, deadly silence.
Send the fawns scurrying.
There, in the corm, thinly disguised,
See the gleam in his eyes.
Whispering chert,
Strikes and burrows.
Stagger away, to the forest.
Who are these new predators on this land,
These uprights, this carnivorous man?

Dream Machine

Humm…buzz…ding ding ding
Oh what a beautiful thing, ding ding
Lookout world, here comes me
Ridding along on
On my dream machine

With a monotonous ring, ring, ring
Spitting oil, gas and steam
Ding ding ding ding ding
Oh my…what
A colorful scene

Skies of brown, seas of pink
Oh what a beautiful thing
Fish are floating in the sea
Don’t blame me
Ding ding ding ding

(Odysseus has been shipwreaked by Poseidon and is swimming for his life on the open ocean for three days and nights)

Odysseus awoke amazed that he
had slept at all. The sky was clear; the wind
and sea caressing. The fiery rays
of Helios upon the gentle waters
blazed a brazen path that seemed to lead
directly to him bobbing there and filled
his lasting heart with stubborn hope.

He raised his stinging eyes to heaven
and spoke to his enduring mega-hearted soul,
“Still yet I live. And even if I never
knew a name of god, my soul would still require
that all my praise and all my thanks go out
to you, dear sun, whose light and warmth I thought
that never would I see or feel again.
Truly nothing is impossible in life.
I only lived this long to say I thank you.”

White shirt, gray buttons absent
dusty jeans, worn boots broken
swagger, entering barroom

shotgun rests, short arm's distance
fingers hitched, belt buckle yields
buckskin brown, mane black, waiting

fast horse, sung proudly aloud
battered medals, feathers fly
noble warrior, epic.

More specifically, is there something in his life that made him so eccentric? Like did he experience something that caused him to be weird.
I am writing a research paper and I think my thesis is going to be on his unique form. If there any other suggestions for a thesis let me know as well.
Thank you!

Could someone please help me with an analysis of Friendship Sonnet by William Shakespeare?

When to the session of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought,
And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste:
Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow,
For precious friends hid in death¹s dateless night,
And weep afresh love's long since cancelled woe,
And moan the expense of many a vanish¹d sight:
Then can I grieve at grievances foregone,
And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er
The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan,
Which I new pay as if not paid before.

But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restored and sorrows end.
