When we're asking ourselves something, deciding whether to be skeptical about it, which criteria do we most often find must be met, to proceed to the next logical step? Assumptions must be made almost immediately, thus, enabling us to progress. When someone like gallileo, Newton,Einstein comes along and changes things, this changes outcomes further down the scale almost everywhere. Can we actually ever assume anything as true. It seems to me , to be a skeptic is only to impede yourself from any real progress in discovery. Science is based on study and gathering info, asking questions.

Not seen.
Not heard.
Obviously not spoken to.
No waves.
No smiles.
Not even a look my way.
No existence.
No care.
Whatever its not.
Its me.

Alright today I wanted to give blood, sure I wanted to help save lifes but it was also for a different reason. A year ago my teacher called my a coward. It didn't bother me back then, but after I examind my behavior I figured out I was a coward. I can never say things to peoples faces and I can nevr keep a secret because I'm way to scared of keeping it in. I'm terrified of dogs and blood and neeedles feak me out. Well I wanted to prove her and myslef wrong. That I had at least some courage. When I got there I was all nervouse and shakey. I couldn't sit still for more than a second. They saw all the anxiety I had and decided that it was best if I went back to class. I was asked before hand if I wanted to back out but I refused. It wasn't until the point where I was forced to leave that I gave in, but I still gave in. I wish I could have helped how nervouse I was. So my question is...Am I still a coward? even though I was willing to go through with it even though my body wasn't?

In a Democracy should not the military be Democratic?

Should military personnel (soldiers, sailors, etc) be thoroughly informed of the complete details of a proposed war so that an individual, inteligent decision can made, then allowed to vote to participate in the fight? If the majority votes in favor,THAT majority goes to the war, instead .of the participation being arbitrarily dictated by those who would send them and not participate.

If you think about it, you actually don't know what 'real'
is. One can say what we see, taste, touch, smell, hear is considered 'real'. What your mind does is tell you what you should believe is 'real'. Stare at your hands and ask yourself, "How did I end up where I am? Why am I answering questions? Who created my conscious... my beliefs... what I see?" Everything has a creator. So who created 'reality'? If God created 'reality', who created God? In the end: is it 'real' or just an illusion our conscious creates?

Ok, the way I see it is of course it has to make a sound, all objects "give off" energy in the form of sound when falling in such a manner, and it doesn't matter whether someone is there or not, it still happened. There doesn't have to be anyone watching the tree for it to fall, why should someone have to be there to hear it fall?

What I am interested in is the opinion of those who think that it does not make a sound if no one is there. I am not trying to ridicule you, just get a new viewpoint/expand my horizons because I do not understand that position.

So what do you think?

and contradicting the theory. and just showing the problems as to why its wrong and refutable.

the reason it cant be declared "wrong" is because it cant be proved wrong to a solipsist, and you cant actualy experience what others are.

i dont.

the people like ted bundy, BTK killer, charles manson etc. are all sociopaths. its a personality disorder and they are usualy born with it. there act are evil and the wiring in there brain is off.

i also dont beleive in other evils. usualy its just people who arealmost broken inside and make bad decisions. i have many friends who have done bad things. and i know for a fact that they are good people. they just made bad choices and life pounded everything out of them and they chose to think differently. but i see little spurts of the true them come out when the situation calls for it
