When we're asking ourselves something, deciding whether to be skeptical about it, which criteria do we most often find must be met, to proceed to the next logical step? Assumptions must be made almost immediately, thus, enabling us to progress. When someone like gallileo, Newton,Einstein comes along and changes things, this changes outcomes further down the scale almost everywhere. Can we actually ever assume anything as true. It seems to me , to be a skeptic is only to impede yourself from any real progress in discovery. Science is based on study and gathering info, asking questions.

Check out"Occam's razor".Most scientific progress is from proving things wrong.I think it's also refered to as the "least hypothesis"

it is pretty obvious that you are not a scientist from the blabber after your initial question. it is so jumbled and ONE paragraphed...i am not going to waste my time and read it to try and understand it.

science, does not progress with speculative thought or skepticism. there is nothing speculative in science. theories and hypothesis' are formed then tested, tested and tested again. if you view this as skepticism, youre wrong. skepticism is doubt that your (or another) theory will work. experiments are attempts and a method of proving that their theory is correct. for example. E=MC^2. the most popular and well known equation. this simple yet powerful equation took einsteins years to formulate and has been tested and proven correct (so far) millions and millions of time since its discovery and introduction.

BUT i do understand your point because there is research as well to disprove a theory...like cold fusion. which was successful in being disproved.

skepticism, imo, is doubt without any evidence or foundation. it is an opinion and is subjective. science is not subjective.

consider science to be the exact opposite of philosophy. rational, methodical and logical. philosophy is speculative without requiring experimental reproduction of the same results...every answer in philosophy is considered important, correct and viable.

there is no E=MC^2+1.23 if you like nor is there E=MC^2+blueberry muffins (on rainy days). answers like these are acceptable on philosophy.

In skepticism the contradiction, be they true or false exists before the hypothesis doubted. In speculation the formalization for hypothetical production proceeds from its own ground in the individual. That's the distinction of intelligence of different individuals, their different ground for creative thought. The ground for skepticism and speculative thought are the same universally (memory) and their velocity together are determinant for the total apparent velocity for the individual intelligence. Skepticism and speculative thought do not operate independently and can not be measured for that reason.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

They're equal. Speculation allows the idea to flourish and perhaps even be produced. Skepticism keeps the idea from going totally overboard. Sort of like Yin and Yang.

There you have it. In order to accept anything as fact, there is a certain amount of faith involved.
