I think the general feeling is pretty objective; we all know what it feels like to be "happy". But, the causes of happiness are quite subjective. It takes more to make some people as happy as others that require less. For example, getting an A on a test might make someone as happy as someone else who just won the lottery.

Happiness is not subjective because everybody pretty much knows what the feeling of being happy is like. If happiness was subjective, some people wouldn't even realize that they are happy.

You are responsible for your own happiness. Hence, you define happiness for yourself whether it is money, tranquility or peace of mind.

It is very subjective. Subject to the perimeters of one's knowledge and imagination. It is also brief and fleeting. That's life.
