80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

well, i understand u mean to ask- 'what is the purpose of life?' it is difficult to answer this one. But, simply put, the purpose of life is to lead a fruitful and humble life. Sow seeds which would giv fruits to u as well as others.
not everyone can be mother Teresa or Mahatma Ganhdi. But u can surely be the good neighbor next door. be a good wife, husband, mother, son, bro, .......
Love, laugh, live, care, share, feel, heal (sorrows) - this is what is life about.
A hindu st. has summarised the purpose of life very well in just one line- 'when u were born u cried while the world rejoiced. live ur life in such a way that when u die, the world cries while u rejoice'- St. Kabir

i dont understand that question. life does not have a meaning. its meaning is what happens while people are alive. You're purpose here is a more valid question. as far as meaning goes however, i guess a species trying to evolve to ebcome stronger is the meaning of life. It does not apply to people individually. if there is a true meaning it is for all of the members of a species to succeed as opposed to individual purposes.

Don't you hate those people who will answer THE question along the lines of: "just living" or "life itself". I just wanna find them and hurt them. Then again, they might be right.
My opinion is, we just don't know, never have, never will. the meaning of life is getting over that. be humble and just maybe a little useful.

The meaning of life can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. For me, the meaning of life is to be happy. Period.

That is a personal question that every person answers for themselves. The answers will differ for every person so really there is not a universal answer to your question.

There is no meaning to life. You yourself have to put meaning into it.
